  1. I know it’s fun to dogpile but really, it was pretty clear he was saying that there’s been a lot of changes to the Canucks roster recently.

  2. bro only cared about his buddies and said fack you guys to everyone else on the team

way to go to the keep hughes happy campaign

    > **“You get so close to these guys, and then you play them in practice every day,”** he said when asked if there were any Canucks players in particular that it would be weird to go up against.
    >
    > **“I don’t know, obviously playing my brothers, that’s weird too, so I’m kind of used to scenarios like this.”**
    >
    > He gave another rationale for why his emotions could be subdued.
    >
    > **“Honestly, I don’t even really know a lot of their guys,”** he said.
    >
    > **“Obviously, I played with some of the young guys there for three or four months, but a lot of the guys I was there with for the meat of my six years aren’t there.”**
    >
    > Never mind the meat of his six years there. When the Canucks play the Wild on Thursday, *there are only five players in the lineup who were regulars for Vancouver when they participated in Round Two of the NHL playoffs in 2024:* Elias Pettersson, Brock Boeser, Filip Hronek, Teddy Blueger, and Nils Höglander.

    > Everyone else is gone.

And actually, right before his « Honestly… » comment, he was asked, « when you see certain Canucks with the puck, do you know what to do? » and he went on to say that as a D-man you shouldn’t try to guess tendencies too much to begin with. That’s the context before the rest of his answer.

This subs cope with Hughes is so sad. He left because we’re a shit franchise that isn’t actively trying to win a cup – winning a cup is not in the business plan for the Canucks. Good enough to fill the building and help print money for the ownership through the Canucks and surrounding real estate.

Could he have been a better captain, probably but it’s like the 50th most consequential reason for the Canucks being in a hole that only repetitive lottery luck can get them out of.

He’s moved on, hopefully after tonight’s game we see a little less bitterness.
