I mean I’d love to have him but he’d probably get buried on the depth chart so he’d probably be better off signing somewhere else tbh.
Called his agent? Probably.
Will the Wild get him? Not unless we make a very good offer and I don’t think they will be the top offer.
I’m 100% ok with going after him.
College FAs usually want to sign with not so good teams so that they get a chance to play. Him signing with the Wild would be cool, but not in his best interest career-wise
There’s a reason Graf didn’t sign here two years ago. They want chances to play. Minnesota center depth while weak isn’t as weak as other bad teams.
Not sure if he would be interested in coming here as we’re not really looking for a young center still developing his game. We need a bonafide true 1C and really we’re set at the center position depth wise. Ek obviously 2C, and then Hartman, Yurov, Sturm or Trenin available for the 3C and 4C.
If he’s like a no brainer 1C then sure, but we’ve already got plenty of centers battling for the bottom 6.
Would be nice, but usually college free agents sign with lower teams so they can guarantee ice time. Remember Jack McBain?
He’ll fit in perfectly after Yurov and Stramel land a 1C
I called Billy tonight. He said he’s on the team’s radar and to let everyone know to chill out.
I’ll follow up with him in a week and see if there’s been any more movement.
My main issue is we have a ton of NHL level centers, Ek, Yurov, presumably Stramel and McCarron, sometimes Hartman and Trenin, Haight, and a presumptive 1C (and that’s not including former center Marcus Johansson who they could bring back or the absurd universe where we Get Matt “1C” Boldy)
