@Hurricanes de la Caroline

Mmh…

I mean these articles are great for writers to pad their totals. No new info, just the original thought-provoking idea that things that happened in the past will continue to happen

  2. They’re not wrong, we did need a change in net.

Because Kochetkov got hurt. Note that this is also the reason Bussi replaced him instead of Freddie.

  3. « Playoff hockey is just like totally different » is a thought terminating cliche.

I mean there’s truth in it but it just shuts down discourse and leaves it nowhere to go.

And like a lot of sports narratives it only works in one direction. Nobody goes « This team has been struggling during the regular season but they are obviously going to turn it on during the playoffs.

You can’t argue that these same thoughts aren’t going through all our heads though.

The headline is probably somewhat correct. We shave improved but the goalies are still patchwork and we never landed the elite scorer we have been chasing. OTOH some of the teams that match up well against us will not be around or are noticeably weaker this time around. 🤷

  6. Yeah season ending injuries typically require a replacement, what is this slop.

Imo scoring is still going to be the question. Absolutely we can’t give up soft goals, but we also can’t waste grade A opportunities by shooting it straight into the goalies chest. The latter probably happens much more often anyway.

    “In this writer’s opinion”

Tell me AI wrote your article without telling me AI wrote your article.

  8. Even as a fan it is at a point where the Hurricanes have to prove they can win in the playoffs after the second round. We can dislike the article title all we want but its on the team to breakthrough. We can be annoyed at the national media for « not being able to help themselves ». But its only a story for however long the team allows it to be.

If you keep flaming out in the playoffs every year then they are going to keep writing articles like this.

Once the team wins then most if not all of these articles will stop but until then we have to just deal with them constantly writing them.

To be fair, dude never said what the reason was. He just implied (ok, misled) the reader to think that was entirely performance-based.

It’s a hack move to say “there’s a reason” and then conveniently omit the season-ending injury to Kochetkov.

Honestly if pyotr gets back it’s Andersen who’s the third man out. He is playing so small and slow too often. Pyotr gets the benefit of having no knocks cause hasn’t played and Bussi kinda came back down as our team slowed down with clinching seemingly inevitable

That being said yes it looks like goaltending issues will remain a threat and until proven otherwise so will scoring. Alongside a good dose of we don’t toe the line so every team that happily throws some dirty play in will have an edge over us.

Still hoping for a magical change and for this miserable goaltending skid to be in season letting post season look like the earlier version

The main page writers are totally separate from me btw 😉
