@Islanders de New York

  1. Peter DeBoer had three big offensive teams in his last coaching jobs. The Islanders are not built on offence except for Shaefer now. Maybe some prospects will change this… But I don't see a good fit right now !

  2. Key 2026 Trade Deadline Moves by Darche :

Acquired: Brayden Schenn (from STL), Ondrej Palat, Carson Soucy.

Traded Away: Jonathan Drouin, 2026 1st Round Pick, 2026 3rd Round Pick, Marcus Gidlof.
IMO : bad move giving away the 1st round pick and adding Palat (bad contract !)
If Schenn has a couple 50 points season (he is 35) then it'S a win otherwise expensive addition if 20-30 pts per season

  3. There never was any chance that Pete DeBoer was going to go to Toronto.

As a matter of fact, it's highly unlikely Chris Pronger will be involved either. Neither of them want anything to do with the dumpster fire that is MLSE at the moment. There is literally no upside to either of them, aside from throwing a few coins in their pockets. But the damage to the reputation would be immense. So, almost no amount of money is worth working with the Leafs, at least at the moment.

  4. Always entertaining to listen to these 2 Clowns and their thought process….. Debeer won't last through the 27-28 season, Ottawa won't be successful til they get the CANCER out of their dressing room that Tkachuk presents and MOREAL will just go down in flames in Playoffs

  6. What. The. Hell.

Roy took a team w/ the 1st overall pick, last year, to the outskirts of the playoffs. Furthermore, Roy certainly has something to do with Sorokin unlocking his Vezina potential.

This is a big-time head scratcher… for Peter “The Playoff Loser” Deboer, no less.

  7. what a jerk move I hope NYI crash and burn , Patrick Roy is a good coach, I hope Toronto Maple Leaf's get a new coach in Patrick Roy & Marc Bergevin for GM , the new French connection

  9. The Leafs miss out once again. I say this not in spite but come on guys. He was right there. Pelley has proven he hasn't a clue about the business of hockey. You let this one slip too. It looks like you actually like losing. This is a very decisive and astute business move by the Islanders. And what are the Leafs doing? Waiting for a train that's already left the station – that's what. Here's some free advice. Walk 950 meters to the Blue Jays head office. Study how to build a professional sports team and go back to Leafs headquarters and apply learned lessons. Period.

  10. lol, those guys were playing for Roy. They’re not going to play for DeBoer, way to tank the season. Great decision!
