One thing that stands out with this team is we didn’t just acquire young talented players. We got freaking gamers. Slaf, Hutson, Demi, Fowler all have incredible work ethic and characters. Same thing with guys we already had like Suzi, Cole, Dobey, Guhle. This team is good and exciting, but they are also all playing the right way.

Keeping in mind the guy the Habs chose in 2023 hasn’t played in the NHL yet, but I’d still prefer him over Michkov, although Habs were ripped for not choosing him. I am certain that if Michkov was chosen in 23, Demidov wouldn’t have been in 24, instead Habs would have focused on D in 2024, and there were no lack of options.
Just the smell test, but there’s some Galchenyuk in Michkov.
But we have Demidov who will leave Michkov in his dust if he hasn’t already.

I’m not scared to say I think long-term when he has reached a certain comfort level and NHL play slows down for him, he could have a similar level of impact on this team that Kucherov currently does for TB. And before you freak out about that, don’t forgot he wasn’t a PPG player until his 4th season and no one saw this in him in his first 2-3 years in the league.

And playing with a center who doesn’t set up linemates to boot

Wow. Those are some serious words from a true pro who has been around and knows the game.

I’m telling you man you give him a real 2C and he’s gonna takeoff. Kid oozes talent.

I think he might be the most skilled hab i have seen play. Other than kovalev for a couple years there.

You know the team has the right people when players acknowledge and support their team mates.

Only thing I worry about out with Demi is legit making it hard for Zharovsky because media will just compare Russians as usual.

This is why I give Demidov the Calder Trophy over Schaefer or Sennecke. Demidov averages 15 mins per game. Sennecke averages almost 18 and Schaefer averages 24. Imagine Demidov with their average time on ice.
