Without the paywall, *please*.
Goddamn.
Wheeler said he went back and forth between the Sharks and Hawks on this one. Seems about right. Add in the fact that Chicago is adding a presumably top 2-5 pick, most likely another late first based on Davidson’s track record of trading seconds for a late first, and Chicago will have drafted something like 13 first rounders in 5 years?
I do think davidson will explore the trade market since free agency is basically nothing. Hawks have a surplus of draft picks and prospects, several that writers are high on. Will be interesting to see how this plays out
So best prospect pool BEFORE we draft another top 4 player? I can’t wait to see how this all evolves over the next 3 seasons.

I mean…I’d fuckin hope so lol
and before adding a likely top 3 pick.
I’d argue Nick Lardis should be higher. Hes already proved he can score in the NHL. Tier 2 at least.
Fire kyle! /sarcasm
The Sharks at no. 2 and in a playoff chase with better prospects at every position than the hawks (wheeler’s words, not mine). tough to see.
I give Kyle Davidson and Hawks ownership a lot of credit for the patience they’ve showed. It would have been easy for the Wirtz to get frustrated with how slow this thing is going and demand some moves for a better product today. If this was done right it was always going to take awhile. Davidson has done a great job accumulating talent. Now the next step is developing it.
With a top 4 pick coming and a ton of future high end picks that can be used as leverage, exciting times are ahead.
Im so excited for Kantserov
