That’s assuming both lose their Thursday game. If Seattle wins tomorrow and we lose to Avs tomorrow then Seattle is 4 point ahead prior to Saturdays game.

They should try to win. Every single game. Building a winning culture is extremely valuable. The flames have never drafted above 4th, ever. The are one of only two teams to have never drafted in the top three.
They have drafted 4th once, 6th 4 times, 9th twice and 10th once.
Drafting well with good scouting is more important than just draft order though that can certainly help.
Having a dysfunctional front office, poor scouting and poor culture are bigger hindrances to success than draft order.
The flames seem to have improved those items. Tanking is detrimental.

I’m going to that game in Seattle. I’ll be rooting with the rest of the kraken fans wearing my 2011 heritage classic jersey.
Flames get 4 points out of their remaining 5 games to finish with 77 points. And then they win one of the lotteries and draft top 2 anyway.
