Wow, what an effort last night! Unfortunately Ottawa won but we can’t depend upon other teams to help us. There are still 6 more points to be had. LGRW!

Has anyone read any updates on Gibson?

  2. big_phat_gator

Larkins 80% is dangerous, sad he plays most of the second half of every season at 50 or less. When he gets his legs back a little bit, you can just tell how bad hes hurt. Todd mentioned that he had no power in his leg to help him get his shot off, but tonight he got a little bit of that power back.

Also, Seider looked like a man possessed. Todd said he came out like that already at practice. Wonder who pissed in his cornflakes

Fun game last night! I’m currently 2/2 on my attendances for red wings wins.

You can really tell Larkin is hurt, I guess it’s not as easy for me to see on tv. I mean I knew he was, but yeah last night you could clearly see. But man he had himself quite a game.

Aljo has been great lately but man, he’s nuts in person. I hope he sticks around for a while.

So fun to see Chiarot just dummy guys all over the ice.

Perron was incredibly chirpy last night, real fun to see.

And Seider, my favorite player, that German built giant, with a goal and 4 assists was just the icing on the cake.

My hands and vocal cords hurt this morning but it was all worth it. LGRW!!

  4. Unlikely we make the playoffs and thats dissapointing, but quite likely we end the yesr 8th in the east and 11th in the league. Its absolutely ridiculous that we have to be a top 10 team in the league to make the playoffs in the atlantic.

Kinda funny how if you had asked me a year ago my opinion on 11th/12th in the league with a top 5 prospect pool, id have been through the moon. I think its ridiculous to be asking for a teardown or for todd/steve to get canned. Were on the right track, even if it doesnt feel like it.

  5. A few thoughts on last night:

    1) Regardless on whether you think Larkin is good enough to be 1C on a true contender or whether you think he’s the right choice to be Captain on the best version of this team, he’s a really good player who make this team better on the ice and in the room. Maybe he shouldn’t be “the guy”, but he’s part of the solution in some role. It was nice to see him have that game. He needed one like that.

    2) As fun as last night was, it’s hard to not look at the box score and notice that it was still essentially just Seider, Larkin, and Kane responsible for basically everything. Cat started it off and Lucas has a couple secondary assists, but we still got nothing from the vast majority of the roster and we still didn’t generate much at 5 on 5. Can’t count on the same 5 guys being lights out at non-5 on 5 situations every game.

    3) I wish these games didn’t so frequently happen once our playoff odds were slim every year.

    4) While it should go without saying, Seider is unreal.

  6. Some pretty impressive mental gymnastics in the PGT thread to spin a fun game, and a big win as actually a bad thing. Man, if you’re here, at a certain point you just got to enjoy a big night for the guys and your team winning. If you can’t even find an ounce of pleasure in that, or you gotta go out of your way, and find a way to say the glass is half empty, just take a break. That’s not what sports, or hobbies are for. Quit having fun meme out in full force last night.

Spicy Mo coming in hot for 26-27.

  7. 6 goals last night and not one single point from our bottom six.

If that’s not an indication of this season I don’t know what is.

The NFL is getting investigated for making fans pay too much for multiple streaming apps. Hopefully some kind of precedent gets set that filters to the other major leagues. Apparently, there is a sports broadcasting law from the early 60s that the DOJ is using to guide their decision.

  9. All I know for sure is that I am so susceptible to the trend in this sub that I didn’t think they would win when it was 5-2 and I am such a gullible Wings fan that I still think that this is our year. My mind is putty and I love this team. LGRW!!!!

We need goals in the offseason, and I’d love superstars – but I think we kinda have stars. Our biggest missing piece is depth that doesn’t get caved.

Just look at +- with our top end guys vs the rest of the team.

Seider leads the way at +21, playing about 25 minutes a game. So about half the game when he’s out there we are winning 5×5.. other guys with good +- are

Ed +14 (helps playing with Mo)

    Cat +11

    Larkin +6

    Copp +6

    Ray +5

We still need someone on the first line. That’s where trading for someone great would help, or one of the young guys takes a leap over the summer

Looking at the other end of the spectrum you have ASP -21 and Kasper -20. I’m hoping ASP gets stronger and Kasper bounces back… if not then we are in trouble irregardless. AlJo is also -16 which is bad but I’m hoping he continues to grow and flips that

The vet depth players are the biggest issue tho, these are guys I’m just not expecting to get better

    JVR -15

    Hamonic -10

    Ras -10

    Compher -10

Apple -4 (somewhat surprised I thought he’d be worse)

I do wonder if we can graduate MBN and Danielson this year and Bear and Plante next, and they turn into 40-60 point guys (with 1 becoming more of a star who can be a ppg game) and most importantly finishing +10 or higher we can fix the biggest issue on the team… our third and fourth lines getting caved

  11. Ydoesany1doanything

Finally quit procrastinating and filed taxes. I actually started like 2 weeks ago and put about 80% of the info in lol.

I’m not sure I did it quite right but I’m pretty sure shit went in the governments favor so fuck it. I’m just over the headache of dealing with this shit and I don’t rely on a return

  12. cat_enthusiast5

Is this sub seriously trying to leverage yesterday’s game as a reason to have hope or not be enraged by the team’s collapse this Spring? Nothing has changed. We cannot keep banking on the prospects hitting their ceiling. What will we do when they don’t and we’re no better off? How many years will it take before we get serious about the state of this team?

  13. Cautious_Vast7819

Calling it right now yezerman big trade this offseason is for a first I don’t mind the idea if we trade for a top pick and get the rebuild back on track

  14. GreenishBastrd

Does anyone know if the griffins release their lineup before game time? I feel like there’s a non zero chance that Augustine gets a start this weekend

  15. BeautifulPlace2Drown

Zero doubts that Mo Seider will have multiple Norris trophies before his career is over. Should be on the short list this year

  16. RWHockey13

Missed the game. How did Kasper fair? He is the that player that « must » take a deeper and better step forward next season.

  17. Willhalfen

Hat shopping today. Tossed one of my favorite hats, but totally worth it. I haven’t seen a hat trick in person before last night.

  18. girlwithabird-

I know chances are low to make the playoffs, but I kind of don’t mind if we finish off the season the way we played yesterday. It was fun to watch for the first time in quite a while. That said, I absolutely won’t complain if the Sens and/or Bruins forget how to play these last few games.

  19. JeremieLoyalty

Wanted a Pistons and Red Wings playoff atmosphere.

  20. AirFriedSushi

So it all comes down to Saturday right? Wings lose and Sens win = eliminated
