Said it before and I will say it again: I am on board with the potential outcome of Gillis as POHO and Mehta as GM

Someone please explain to me what the appeal is to Gillis other than losing in the SCF over a decade ago

Gillis as President not GM. Mehta as GM. Pridham as AGM. Mark Leech as head of scouting. That’s a good analytics based head office.
You got Gillis as the guy to keep Pelley out of the way. While the other guys cook.

This just reeks of another Tre situation
This would be disappointing for me but I already don’t like Pelley so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised I won’t like who he picks.
I only know what I’ve read about Gillis on the internet, but it sounds like an out-of-the-box type of thinker. As an org I think we need to break away from the old dinosaur mentality that we’ve seen with Tre and Berube.
We started down that path with Dubas but regressed back to what we have now.

I’m sorry but you’ll never get me to be excited about a guy who hasn’t worked in an nhl front office since 2014.
Obviously whoever we hire I’m hoping for the best but yeah id rather see someone in there who has been in the league more recently.
I remember Luongo saying in regards to his problem getting traded that his contract sucks- Gillis signed him to that contract!
From what i’ve read from Canucks fans, Gillis was really good but their owners were cheap & very hands on about the roster construction and it ruined a lot of good things over there.
How are we feeling about this Leafs nation? Are we thinking this is a president of hockey ops and not GM position?
Im in vancouver, cant stand this guy. Worst pick possible.
