If we can get .900+ goaltending from Hart and Eichel decides to turn up the gas for playoffs, we certainly have a chance
i’d say that is totally inaccurate but playoffs are a different story. a final of us vs Carolina would be so cool

Looks like they finally gave up on Edmonton.
It’s always been a stupidly flawed system. The one year the Flames had a higher % chance to win the cup even when they were nearly mathematically eliminated than a team firmly in the playoffs.
Yes the stupid division format helps thin out the Central but I wouldn’t bet on us over almost anyone in the west in a series; we’ve been way too suspect this year.

This should surprise nobody, VGK have been analytical darlings this year. Exceptionally poor goaltending, shooting percentage and inability to win past regulation, is more than enough for an otherwise good team to underperform in the standings.
