I might just be checked out on the Canucks but I had basically forgotten about the Myers trade until I saw this post. I only remembered the Granlund trade when I saw a post about how bad Columbus is with him and his poor recent stats.

What were they expecting though? He’s a player near the end of his career and he’s dropped into a new team with a new system, and only playing limited minutes in said system. He’s going to struggle.
Dallas got him for the playoffs and that’s where he will contribute.

That one year when he played after Tocchet took him for a walk in the park. Was maybe the best year of his career. He was locked in. That’s how I’ll remember my hero.

Myers has never been a good player. Tocchet had a good system that made a lot of bad players look decent.

I was really hoping he’d get traded to Buffalo. My favourite Sabres playoff brought stat is that Myers is the active leading playoff scorer for that franchise. It’d be neat to see how long he could keep it up.

He’s been bad the moment we signed the 6×6 deal. How do people not remember how bad he was those first few years? Tochhet’s low-risk system of defenseman chipping the pick out of the boards instead of making a play is what made him look better than he was.
