The problem is that the next two are against the Penguins and unless Chucky goes Iron Sheik Class in game 2 I don’t think they can win out. Regardless put the kids out there and see what they got. If they lose and go out, so be it. But the future is promising
I’m not sure what is more stupid/frustrating! The fact that we could still end up in a playoff spot that’s not a Wild Card, or the fact that had we just once or twice more beaten some truly terrible teams (VAN or NYR) we would be in like a shot. 🤷♂️
All of the teams listed in that article are playing contenders or teams that already are IN. The weekend will be interesting. Two of the teams in Washington’s way must play Carolina, a perennially good team that currently leadds its division. Three must play the Habs who have been on a tear, of late.
Only Washington does play either Carolina or the Habs. Philadelphia and the Islanders must play both. Columbus gets only the Habs but the Bruins *ain’t* much of a break. Washington does not have the hardest schedule of the bunch but still it has a hard row to hoe. Absent all of the other teams’ losing all three of their last games, one « L » sinks Washington’s hopes.
Any way that anyone wants to look at it, it is a tall order but not necessarily one that can not be filled.
We really shot ourselves in the foot here. Should’ve won against NJ and the Rangers. I would’ve been ok with a loss against the sabers.
Oh well. Time to win out and hope for some other teams to lose.
It’s kinda shocking they still have a chance, but hey..keeps it interesting coming down the stretch. Especially if the last game is Ovies last.
Wait, we are still alive ?
