This is why this franchise should just start from scratch. They are aleeady getting labeled as dysfunctional. Might as well embrace the tank for a while, keep a coach who can develop players, and embrace the youth. If the organization came out and be honest with its fan, instead of selling false hope, things will go smoother. They are already losing money by putting ticket prices, might as well be bad for a while to be great for a long period of time.

  2. A pretty candid interview from someone who is in the org or I guess org adjacent. Nice to hear. One thing that bugs me about sound of hockey is their reluctance to call trends and people out specifically

Gotta find a way to eat Stephensons contract. Schwartz, Tolvanen, Oleksiak and Stephenson should all be gone next year. Maybe even try to offload Freddy if it makes sense. Roster is stacked with a glut of 3rd line guys, prospects cannot develop in 3rd or 2nd line roles if they’re filled. I imagine any UFA is walking to FA, we might move out a couple guys, go get Kyrou from STL, resign McMann and move on

Donnie and Dhali is a great example of new sports media. An old sportscaster and former Radio guy got together after the collapse of one of the sports talk radio stations in Vancouver. The TV show is broadcast on the small Vancouver Island tv station and all over YouTube.

The guys in Edmonton, led by Jason Gregor, did something similar an over the internet radio that’s associated with the nation network.
