That’s why I love Marty. He doesn’t make players become something they aren’t by playing different play styles. He coaches each player individually and allows them to expand on their strengths.

Obviously he was arguably the 2nd most talented guy from his ~~team~~draft, but he really fits the character requirements that HuGo look for in prospects.

I appreciate MSL’s self awareness and transparency. It’s easy to see how a young team can positivity respond to that type of leadership. As the team grew and improved, so has Marty as a coach.

  5. Marty seems like such a genuinely nice person to play for, feels obvious to me he’s a reason why players seem happy to sign here.

    Cant wait for the playoffs.

    Ça peux tu commencer hier.

If a player is successful at doing what he likes to do let him go at it the rest will follow

  8. You can see Demidov’s generosity on the ice. Often enough, he’ll attack the net, get a prime chance in the slot and pass off to the side. I hope next year he’s a little more selfish.

Love to read this. I really like how Demidov doesn’t seem to have an ego despite his insane talent. He’s a team player and isn’t there to steal the show, the downside being maybe he’s a little shy to take the matter in his own hands. As he’ll gain more experience he’ll know exactly when it’s time for a Demidov show.

love this coach and players. they all have their own style of play but the mentality is team first and the focus is on team goals, not individual ones.

the team-first mentality is what I love the most about Demidov

Breath of fresh air from watching a lot of modern day Russian NHLers.

This guy throws off massive dad energy and that’s what these young guys need. Positive energy, trust and pride.

Master lesson on coaching is in front of us here.

Instill life long good habits from the start. let the player skate to open ice. the puck will come to him.

    We are not worthy.

  14. I really wonder how Demidov feels about this team, the comraderie, the coaching etc after his experience in the KHL
