How they managed to fuck up a black jersey that badly I’ll never understand
Apparently I’m in the strong minority that actually liked this jersey. Especially because I have a hat hat to go with it
Jersey definitely grew on me over the years, especially the culture with things like the Hat hat.
I got my Hischier Jersey the second it came out. Love it, sad it’s leaving.

I really loved this corny ass jersey and I’ll forever mourn not getting to grab a hat hat. I really hope the next jersey is new because I’m in a very small minority that doesn’t like the Christmas coloured ones
The marketing is so bad in this league and especially with the devils. Why wasn’t the New Jersey rolled out in conjunction with the goodbye? Fans would have lined up to buy them in advance of next season.
I always scratch my head at how bad merchandising is in this league.
I’m in the camp of “meh” on these. Didnt hate them, didn’t love them.
I hope they keep the Hat forever, until such time that the jersey is completely forgotten, and when kids ask their parents why the hat is labeled, grandpa looks over with a gleam in his eye, content to keep but not to share the lore.
End of an error. Not that the jerseys were ugly or anything. It’s just that our team has not achieved anything of note during the Jersey jersey’s existence, other than knocking the Rags out of the playoffs a few seasons ago.
Ambivalent about them, but I can say it was always a little disappointing to either watch on TV or live and see them in the black jerseys. They’re just kind of lifeless.
Oh well, beats the ugly Christmas sweater thats only redeeming quality was nostalgia .
It grew on me, especially on the goalies.
But maybe closing the chapter in the jersey jersey can also be opening a new chapter where we don’t suck every year.

Could’ve been an all time great with the NJ Devils Logo without the circle. Jersey Jersey was fine, no love or hate from me. I feel it just missed the mark
I honestly don’t trust anyone who disliked this jersey.
I never liked these and I’m not sad to see them go. I hope we get something like the stadium jersey next instead.

I really loved this Jersey. Some people hate fun or large departures. Did a quick and dirty photoshop of what I think the most boring black redesign would be. While I’d probably buy it, it takes no risks and does nothing new. Big 00’s black for black’s sake era stuff. Jersey Jersey forever.

Realistically, if they just put the black and white primary logo on the chest and jersey on the pants it would have been just fine.
Wasn’t a fan of these at first but they grew on me over the years. Especially with the other merchandise they released built around it. They should take their time designing a new third jersey and have the fans involved in it more if possible.
I believe this upcoming season all 32 teams will be participating in a nee reverse retro like jersey theme. I’m okay with the Devils just sticking to their home/away jerseys and this new concept jersey. I would love to see oir white heritage jersey become our new third jersey or for themnto bring back one of reverse retro jerseys are their new alternate. Our home and away jerseys need an overhaul as well, they are very bland. I miss our old ones with the waist stripe but I’d be okay if they come up with a new design.
I felt like this was less of a goodbye for the jersey and more of a goodbye for the core as it is currently. Hope we dont lose hischier.
I’m a lifelong fan in Calgary Calgary, and I will not give up my Jersey Jersey, or my Hat Hat!!
They were perfectly fine and the ire they drew clearly wasn’t felt by the general fandom because I see a lot of these in the crowds for Devils games both home and away.
Not a perfect jersey but they were solid and it was cool to finally have a third jersey after so long never having one. Super excited for what’s ahead though now that they’ve broken that seal from the Lou days and can do my jerseys like the hometown remix series next year.
I’ve strongly disliked these jerseys from the drop and am glad to see them go. I’ve grown to appreciate the culture around them and the “hat” hat and all that, but from an aesthetic perspective, in my own opinion, these jerseys are terrible. They blur on the tv broadcast, the arm stripes remind me of one of those optical illusion gifs, and all five games I’ve been to over the last few season when they wore them they’ve got smoked. So yeah, maybe it’s personal but after seeing the stadium series jersey I think we can do so much better than these. Goodbye redundancy jersey, good riddance.
