Zach Werenski dit qu’il a beaucoup de respect pour l’entraîneur-chef du CBJ, Rick Bowness, mais n’est pas d’accord avec les commentaires de Bones hier soir sur la culture consistant à accepter de perdre.

BREAKING: Guy who gave up on season angry about getting called out for giving up on season.

  2. CMCdaGoat

I think the only solution to CBJ’s problems are to trade Werenski to Detroit /s

  3. Casiusclaws

They seemed to take it personally when Laine said the same thing last year…

  4. KurtVongole

If you cared you would have won the game howbowdat?? 😂

From watching the CBJ, I agree with Bowness here. They play like they don’t care. I’ve turned off the games many times because they are boring to watch.

« I don’t know if I’m back next year » – guy who immediately followed that up by saying something that will probably ensure he will not be there next year (Deboer style)

Werenski has the personality of a dead fish

Bro you’re on the Columbus Blue Jackets, the New York Jets feel bad for you

thought Bones said they don’t care enough about losing

It’s insane that he has zero self-awareness. Dude, YOU stopped playing yourself.

Imagine if he said something like « Honestly, great call by Bones. We’re just here to have a good time and get paid ».

Z is taking things literally when Bones is talking about complacency 🙄

Werenski’s play post olympic break was not good. Yes, he had to be tired from the Olympics and he was sick for a time. But he gave a lot of pucks over and would get caught too deep in the offensive zone. We had a depth problem at D this year but Z’s ice time doesn’t help. It looks like he gets gassed, stays on too long, gives up a breakaway. He’s our number one player, but I hope he looks in the mirror a bit.

  14. I mean Zach finished the year with 4 points and a net -5 over the last 11 games of the season. Quite the drop off

3 hits and 23 giveaways in a game is completely unacceptable at the professional level. As Rick said they are lucky they don’t have practice tomorrow. CBJ needs to completely retool their identity and culture.

Absolutely no accountability anywhere on this godforsaken roster

Doesn’t agree? The results speak for themselves.

It was like this for large portions of the Red Wings roster down the stretch. Really disappointing to watch

Didn’t Bowness literally do this same thing the one year with Winnipeg? Came out with some pretty crazy statement about the Jets players at the end of their season and then there was some controversy and someone ended up getting traded or something?

Karlson level deal in 2 years max. Someone do the remind me bot

  21. Slightly off topic but going 2-8-1 to finish the season and barely miss the playoffs while getting 4 points and being -5 over those 11 games then saying « we don’t hate to lose » doesn’t sound Norris worthy to me. Garbage time points don’t matter.

Well see, Columbus didn’t hate to lose until Evason got fired and Bowness got hired, then they did hate to lose for 26 games when they went 19-3-4 after the change to get back into a playoff spot. Then they didn’t hate to lose again for the final 11 games of the season when they went 2-8-1.

Certainly couldn’t be that the powerplay clicked at a 22.6% clip during the hot run after an 18.8% start, while going cold at 11.1% in the final 11 games. Was it the penalty kill going from 76.4% at the start of the season to 80.9% during the hot run before falling to 61.5% down the stretch? Could the biggest culprit be the .896 save percentage for Greaves and .860 save percentage for Merzlikins in the final 11 games? Nah, the team just doesn’t hate to lose enough. They should hit people more instead.

Proof is in the pudding – they had their destiny in their own hands, were playing great and then some other teams took it to another level, and they couldn’t keep up. I don’t think it’s a personel or talent issue.

Sens, Bruins, Habs all pulled ahead with holes in their lineup.

If one person says it, maybe it can be ignored or tossed aside as sour grapes. When a second, very respected coach says it, I’m inclined to believe it.

Careful now. This is how you end up making JT Miller a captain.
