Good morning Dèjan, I really hope this off-season Kyle Dubas goes out and get us a strong defensive defenseman, who's a proven one. One of our advantages is that we have a great offensive defenseman in Karlsson. Letang….we'll skip this topic. So, to strengthen the defense would help the goalies on our team. I'm also assuming Murashov is on the team next year and to throw him under the bus with breakouts and 2 on 1's all the time won't help him. Blessings, Victor

Want to know who has been worse than skinner since he got traded here? Tristan Jarry. We traded bad with a bad contract for bad with no contract beyond this year. Murashov was bad when he was here and has been bad in wbs recently. What would you have them do? Go back in time to the trade deadline and give up high draft picks for some other goalie that a team is willing to trade away?

Jarry sucked, these guys sucked. Most goalies suck in the nhl now. You either have a star goalie or you outscore the other team consistently. No in between now. Just be happy they’re in the playoffs again jagoffs

Delusional as always on goal tending. Defense didn’t even play. It’s weird to think such great insight on almost everything else but butchering the goalie situation…. Clearly a man crush on mirosov. It’s ok buddy he will play next season. *pat on the head
I’m sorry, DK. But those percentages are misleading because we are not allowing a lot shots during games, which means that percentage will be significantly impacted by just one goal. When we breakdown defensively we can’t expect our goalies to bail us out. I think you are totally wrong here. You’re not applying logic to the save percentage and you’re acknowledging the mistake that our 3rd pairing makes as well as LeTang.
Man I think we r gonna get swept unless Joel, or mushy comes up we don't have a chance. I love my pens but don't feel good with this goalies . But hopefully I'm wrong.

This drives me nuts man. Yes the goaltending hasn’t be great but it’s just rage bait at this point because of the score. Skinner is the starter. This game is a different score with an NHL lineup.
Goal 1- quick turnover by solovyov pops out to the best scoring area% (the slot)
Goal 2- defence are clueless to where the puck is (maybe the one skinner could have stopped) but a goalie trusts his defence in that positional circumstance.
Goal 3- multi layer screen
Goal 4- Skinner trusts Clifton on the back door for whatever pass gets through on PK and 5v5. Clifton lost his man.
Save percentage is an insufficient stat. GSAx% is what you need to focus on. Skinner is in the 78th percentile among all goalies played this year. Silovs is just horrendous in all categories so I get his smack talk.
I don’t mind blaming goalies, but I find it irrelevant and desperate trying to find a subject to talk about after a game that was filled with Scranton Penguins players.
I'm worried about the goaltending. .851 isn't good enough, and this very well could be a Cup-winning team but not with an .851. The rebound control is horrendous; tracking the puck was also bad. I think a lot of players made a case to stay in the lineup, but it's hard to say who gets the start in a very important position and that worries me. I hope one or both of them can step it up
The reason I didn’t want the flyers was because if we get bounced in the first round due to crap GT, I could stomach it. If we lose to the flyers it will erase everything this team did this year. I have very little confidence at this point.

Bad goaltending… How about bad team defense and sub-par defenseman. Blaming the goalie for losing without defense, is like blaming the kicker for missing a field goal and losing a the football game.

Will the playoffs reffing help or hurt this team? I watch pens playoffs — but not generally purely because I know the officiating will make it a different lawless sport. I honestly hate playoff hockey. Love regular season hockey. And pens love surpasses playoff hate

Penguins = NHL's worst Defense. Hockey is a team sport. Skinner is fine. Shilovs is not. Penguins is where goalies go before they go away. Pens have had a problem w. the D for years now and that hasnt gotten any better this year. We have one good D line and that's not nearly good enough to go far in the playoffs. The solution is to have a better D inlcluding forwards that play a tighter D.
They won the games they had to … 8-3 over the Isles in the building they rarely win, 5-1 over Detroit and 4-3 in a shootout over Ottawa in the building they never win. The rest has just been a team that was locked into the #2 seed for quite a while … once they won those three games.
But the SAVE PERCENTAGE!!!!! That's the whole story? But +/- is a terrible stat? But MURASHOV!!!! What, his save % is going to be .880 – .890? He's the savior to all pens goaltending! Not with the team in front of him

The frustrating thing is that they had an opportunity to get Murashov or even Blomqvist some playing time after the goaltending took a dump and they just kept right on with what they had. Stu was injured and Murashov was with the team and they still refused to play him. It’s really gonna suck when we get bounced BECAUSE of the goaltending.

This is the outcome you risk when deploying a goalie tandem throughout an entire season. Neither is able to develop the confidence/play of a definitive #1. I say this half-jokingly but Murashov game 1 starter, baptism by fire. Wooh!
I was at the Wilkes Scranton vs St. Louis game last night and was nice to see that our minor league team almost beat their major league team. I'm sure the National Coverage appreciated a game that was 6 to 5 with 3 minutes left to end their regular season coverage. Still want to see a major league goalie take the ice in the playoffs though.
Those statistics are disturbing. And it's way too big of a sample size to blow this off as a just being about the 3 meaningless games. Unfortunately it is a very real possibility that this goaltending will be what gets them eliminated and end a really exciting/positive/enjoyable season from the rest of the team. If they even had average or competent goal tending I'd be so much more optimistic about them doing some legitimate damage in these playoffs. Feels like a pretty glaring mistake to not make more of an attempt to at least try to address this problem at some point over the last few months.
