The quality of today’s sticks is abysmal
Trip a d penalty shot
Maybe it’s just me but I think a stick should never break on pass
I mean yea… it’s a desperate, and illegal play.
The people saying "trip" and "hand pass" genuinely don't understand the rules lol. Just saying words which could theoretically discredit this effort.
If there's a penalty on this play, it's interference, which is arguable but not blatant.
Blatant trip
Talk about hockey IQ. Bouchard would have just let him have the breakaway
Great non call; great hockey battle. Rust knows he got beat by a quarter step
Chychy clappin'
For those calling this a trip, you are either completely blind or have no idea what a tripping penalty is.
Seems like a trip or hold.
Yeah let’s show a highlight of a missed tripping penalty 😂
That’s a pen
This performance is exactly what I needed It deserves more views.
There are so many people in this comment section that should not have opinions on hockey.
Litterly seen that go either way for a penalty, NHL has no idea what their doing anymore?
Obstruction
Washington player litterly cut him off with a shoulder and pretended to fall so he could take the penguins player out. Terrible officiating, but what else is new, reffing been horrible for 40 years
It's not a trip if you completely trip a player…
Bouchard could play in the league for 20 seasons, have this play happen once a game until he retires and never put this much effort in
now that's COMMITMENT!!!!
That's what happened during the oilers vs sharks game except his stick didn't break lol
I mean, that has to be a trip. If hed got the puck first, no, but his first attempt was way off.
Probably should’ve been called a trip and maybe a penalty shot… I say this and I don’t even like the Pens
Me watching this as an oilers fan😢😢
Trip
Genuinely don’t understand why y’all think this would be a trip
Now that’s good hard working there.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
that shoulda been a trip..he made contact with the puck after the fact
Great defensive play except for the blatant trip. Nhl needs to learn their own rules as they literally can't even enforce it.
What a play
That was interference.
Interference all day
nice play washington, see you in playoffs! ooh no wait
Have fun in the offseason Crapitals
This is why hockey is so awesome! Players could be missing their stick, skate blade, a limb, and be bleeding from their eyes and still be in the game. 😂
How is this legal
Define tripping lol. You know a trip when you see it, but what definition would you use? If you say it's using a stick or a leg to physically get the other person's legs to fall off balance, then this really isn't a trip. You can sort of see the Capital using his left arm to push against the penguin's right leg, so maybe that could be construed as tripping. Or, it could just be a light bump or push. I personally do think this warranted a tripping penalty. I'm positive the NHL has a definition of tripping.
Penalty shot should have been the call
Since when can you move the puck with your hand while it’s on the ice, I’ve seen people get penalties for that
100% trip
Chychy's only defensive play all season! Lol
If I'm a referee I'm not calling a penalty just for his effort
So if he had a stick in his hand, he would have been called for reaching in. So because he interfered, there was no call? NHL officiating in a nutshell.
