Data is good, but it's not perfect. That's why you need a good working duo to communicate between stats and hockey sense. Or, you need a guy who can do both. Nowadays, you can't just stick to the old boys club, and the data's nowhere near good enough to just depend on a random scientist.

Humza Teherany has been with MLSE for many years, mainly working with the Raptors and joined prior to them winning a championship. Yes I believe sports teams should be run by sports people with a little help from analytics and now AI. The Raptors are well known in the NBA for their innovation and player development systems. I’m not saying he should be making major player transaction decisions but his prior experience and contributions within MLSE should be respected.

I wonder if AI would have made the Scott Laughton trade last year? Something tells me no. As much as I appreciate Scott as a Leaf it simply cost too much and maybe we need that type of unbiased opinion. It doesn’t mean you have to listen to it.
What can the leafs really do? There money is still tied up in players that have not delivered in alignment with their pay. This window was going to open up and they tied up all their money in a few players based on their potential and not their accomplishments. The team's hands are essentially tied and this era of winning will slowly be over.

After 50+ years as a Leafs fan, i'm done. I've always loved hockey and would listen to/watch the Leafs on Wednesday and saturdays religiously, but enough is enough. The organization is rotting from the inside out. I'm now voting with my feet and the Leafs are out.

I was in montreal and got to go to the bell centre and watch Montreal vs Boston on St Patricks Day. We even got the tour of the bell centre, got to watch the team practice, go into the conference room and alumi room all for 25 dollars. The basic tour in Scotia Arena is already 50 dollars, almost 90 dollars for their "premium" tour. Are you fucking joking? And people are saying theres not a culture problem?
