It’s damning that Myers is up there in second!

  2. Radiant_Sherbert7272

At least Vancouver didn’t give up a first round pick for him…. oh wait.

  3. he did say he had issues with the system they played in so maybe with a new coach new system he might be better?

His falloff this season was unexpected perhaps this season was a one off?

  4. Sarcastic__

I don’t think he was cooked or anything, but the system Foote wanted them to play didn’t do him any favours.

  5. _GregTheGreat_

He was on the worst team in the league and thrown into all of the hard matchup minutes to protect Hughes and then Buium. This should not be a surprise.

  6. Antique-Cheesecake63

We’re tanking for Mckenna he should be applauded. He knows what the fans need.

  7. Wild_Height_901

Hes alot better than these numbers show. And he had a ROUGH first half of the season.

  8. canucklehead200

Couldn’t have used that 12th overall for our rebuild, nope

  9. New_Bank_4686

Invisible M^(an)P23 is probably my favourite Petey right now. Penaltybox D-Petey 25 is still learning and finding hard to thrive. EP40% hasnt changed in much in over the past few years.

Well, they in a rebuild now so it doesn’t matter. You need Vets around for the young defensemen we have. Plus minus wont mean shit for a few years for this team

  11. We were one of the lowest scoring teams, were one of the worst teams defensively in all situations, and our goalies were bad.

M.Pettersson also slightly beat out Hronek was highest proportion of TOI against elite competition at 5v5 at 38.9% of his TOI.

The two chaos giraffes in their natural habitat

  13. toomuchhamza

He seemed better once he was paired with Willander and not Myers, but yikes. I do think Foote’s system does the defense no favours.

These are the guys that smart GMs on good teams pickup for cheap from bad teams

  15. ProfessionalClear211

Hopefully the next GM doesn’t have a bnr for soft Swedes

  16. Either-Banana-7323

Imagine trading Jack Nesbitt for that stat line

  17. Top_Sand_8742

Extremely misleading stats. If you sort by 5on5 play, Marcus has actually been the second most reliable defenseman behind Hronek.

When you factor in that Marcus was second on the team in overall ice time, his defensive metrics still rank him second overall, again only behind Hronek.

Boeser has the worst raw rating on the team, but Karlsson’s rating per 60 is significantly worse once you account for ice time and quality of competition.

It’s called lack of back checking. These two couldn’t do it by themselves.

  19. WTFvancouver

Gave up a top first round pick for him and gave him a long term Loui Eriksson type contact

  20. Goshdarnit, we’re finally rid of Myers and now we have the next worst d-man signed up for 5 years. Got OEL written all over it.

  21. WhaleBird1776

He’s been terrible for us but we deploy him in such a way that there was never going to be a different outcome. Dude was the sacrificial pig. Can’t believe we blew a 1st rounder on a punching bag
