This list scares me more than gives me any hope. Ryan Johnson seems like the only reasonable pick.
Wouldn’t mind seeing Luo back and Tambellini is interesting but just give to Ryan
I mean give me a name of an available gm that you would be impressed by, because the gm market is very scarce. I personally think Sam Ventura would be an interesting pick, hiring an analytics guy has worked out well for the hurricanes and it’s a nice different direction from us hiring former scouts which has not worked well.
Johnson under contract already. So he’ll be the GM because he’s ready and he comes cheap.
The real story should be the President. What’s that list going to look like.

I don’t think we need anyone particularly special at this phase if we’re genuinely rebuilding.
We basically cleared out all our movable assets and everyone else is untradeable one way or another. So it’s just about nurturing youth, drafting best player available, and potentially grabbing a few stanley cup vets at the tail end of their career just to mentor and stabilize the young group a bit more.
I’m leaning more fan service, bring back some nostalgic figures from 2011 in various management positions. That’s the appeal of the Ryan Johnson + Malholtra upgrades to the big club, but I know we also have the Sedins. Would love to see Hamhuis, Burrows (not sure on his contract situation), or others.
Beyond that, just play a looser, but exciting brand of hockey. Tighten it up later. That’s exactly what we did with Marc Crawford -> AV or Burke/Nonis -> Gillis.
In-house is best. RJ please. Let’s have some stability. If he’s not hired it would look like the Canucks are a minor affiliate for other team’s Coach’s and GM’s. Stop with the fucking around. RJ this year and Manny either this or next. Reward your personnel.
