I’m glad to hear this and I hope that he’s really drilling this into the team. Take away half of the Habs’ power plays and we win that game, but if we’re going to keep taking stupid penalties then this is going to be a short series.

I thought the officiating in the game was pretty bad both ways. Super soft for a playoff game. But most of ours were self inflicted for sure. The offensive zone penalties are killers and ours were of the completely unnecessary variety.
Some calls will go against you though so have to be able to kill them. I thought it was a bit odd how we basically just gave them the zone entry on the PK in the 3rd/OT. We did a great job standing them up at the blue line on the first PK and then completely went away from it

Yeah Geekie may have lost his spot with that high stick too. Bad one to take.
It was a scare with James and he got through it thankfully. Says he got better as the game went on.
He isn’t so much concerned about losing the game but more about how they lost it.

Remember when we all thought our regular season bad habits wouldn’t show up in the playoffs and everyone said don’t worry about regular season too much the playoffs are different.
No? Well if all the questions for those were to be answered early and more, there’s your answers.

More hot air after 3 first round exits. Yawn

PK had a rough time. 3 goals on habs PP. Not a recipe for success.

Glad to hear that he noticed it too. If we fix our discipline problem we can beat them 5v5 all day long, we limited their chances like crazy for most of the even strength minutes. Still believe ⚡️

2 of those penalties were completely asinine especially when one of them was one of your best players who’s a vet

« But at least our PK is good » IS NOT AN EXCUSE FOR THE PLAYOFFS!
Slafkovský had a **hat track** on what kind of goals? Power play goals. Today was super winnable and Marty knew how to grab a win after the Guentzel penalty lickity split.

Honestly feels like we don’t have a true player leader right now. Kuch is great but idk I don’t see him anywhere near being a captain. Hedman has been in and out to much that even when he’s there it doesn’t feel like he has the same handle of the team that Stammer or Vinny did.
Not like him to show his frustration and call out the team to this extent. Glad he is.
He’s probably feeling the most pressure to get out of round 1. While he is a great coach and he does the best he can with what he has (let’s face it, our injury parades aren’t always easy to work around), while he’ll get more grace than most coaches, eventually his job will be on the line. Someone has to be the scapegoat when the fans start calling for heads to roll.
And we are a very spoiled fanbase. So we will lose patience a lot more quickly.

[He looked and sounded visibly annoyed too when he talking about this specifically](https://www.youtube.com/live/rbvhwiRhUKQ?si=7-jZwrRZDtWXE82U)
