    This is going to be an albatross for the team and Mehta is going to have to be very creative to get around this without setting us back. I don’t envy anyone inheriting this team because we have a lot of good pieces but also a lot of things holding us back. Hard to make big improvements to the team with so many move clauses that you would just LOVE to move. Plus, the goaltending situation is borderline crisis mode and seems like it can’t be salvaged without AT LEAST buying out Marky to get out of this stupid extension.

    I think next season is going to be more of a retool year. Fitz has completely fucked us over, and with Markstrom carrying a 6 million cap hit (among other terrible contracts tied to NMCs) it’s all but over until we can move off that contract in 2027
