Markstrom and Cody Glass for Helle if he does want out. That would be 8.5 million in and 8.5 million out. Older, different tier goaltender, but you get your second line centre from Winnipeg.
I say just cap how many no trades a team can have.
Who the hell would want DeMelo?????? Lambert minor league material at best. Goaltending needed as well…
The Jets should never trade a first round pick… only 20% of second round picks play more than 200 games in the NHL and the percentage falls right off in the following rounds.
I like Toths idea
Connor Scheifele Villardi
Laine Pettersson Iafallo
Barron Lowry Neidereitter
Rosen Namestnikov Koepke
Morrissey Pionk
Samberg Salmonsson
Brown
Fluery Gustafsson
Freijs
Hellebuyck Comrie Milic Divincentiis
Sign a guy like Laine,Bertuzzi,Marchment,Mantha.
Trade Perfetti+Demelo+1st+Lambert for Pettersson.
If they dont get 2 top 6 players they might as well rebuild if Hellebuyck demands trade.
Even if you can get Pettersson contract to 10m 1m off it be better than nothing. I also feel if players see you trying that will save Chevys job or lose it but if hes on his last year he should try.
The idea of waiting to long to introduce prospects here is a thing. Saying yes the knowing positionally where to be/system/not get injured, can go so far in AHL.
The fans expectation not everyone will be a Perfetti never mind a Bedard. Which is why to good teams with a core picks dont matter.
They are just looking to add around the edges.
We need the high end talent guys like Walton,Julien,Barlow,Zhilkin,Chibrikov can be guys who fit maybe turn into Barrons/Appletons/Copps/Roslovics but we need the top 6 i definitely feel if Chevy got a Pettersson type instead Schenn,Tanev. Ehlers resigns knowing he has a 1B/2C.
Ounce you have
Scheifele Connor
Pettersson Villardi
Morrissey Salmonsson
Hellebuyck 1 more big piece
Then the GM job is easy players want to come to win you dont need difference makers just guys fit in.
When Blackhawks had Keith,Seabrook,Cambell,Crawford,Kane,Sharp,Hossa,Toews they didnt need same bottom 6 wingers/depth d.
Same with Dallas,Colorado,Vegas,Tampa,Florida they have established top 6 they just continue add depth. Id throw montreal ounce Hage/Fowler join in that as well.
Pittsburgh had their core,Boston had the main crew they would just add depth picks/UFA/college free agent's as 3rd/4th line/depth D. Rarely do teams move on from guys like Rantanen ounce contenders.
