  1. They didn't announce the review in Carolina. People left because they played the "win" song and it is a week night. I would have been super pissed when I turned on the post game and heard it was still playing. Once you are out, can't get back in.

  2. I really didn't understand the penalty shot. Penalties can happen after the whistle but if the play is deemed dead by being off side, then how did they how was a scoring chance taken away? In my opinion, it should have been a normal two minute penalty.

  3. The only thing I'm thinking on the off side call is that they are saying Staal did not have control of the puck because Martinook was on side. You are allowed to be in the zone first if you have possession of the puck. Also yes Martinooks trailing foot was off the ice but it no longer has to be. Staal had control of the puck in my opinion. We never got a clear explanation.
But I was not surprised. The officiating in this game was trash! So many bad and missed calls in the Canadian teams favor. I watched parts of the Oilers game and saw the same Canadian team bias in that game of the parts I saw. Maybe if I watched the full game I would think differently about that one.

  4. Watching from home when Jankowski scored I cheered and woke the kids. And then again when Martinook finished it.

    Sorry kids….

  5. Officiating was horrible in this game, the only reason the Sens even had a chance is because they let Ottawa get away with 6-7 blatant missed calls directly in front of the refs. Also one of the worst offsides calls I’ve ever seen, was not offsides…

  6. The Sens are a good team, and they earned their way in. The play their asses off, and Allmark is looking great. Having said that, the refs really did their best to try to hand Ottowa a win against Carolina.

  7. None of them came back. They couldn't. They don't allow you back into the arena. Big miss from the Lenovo team, they played the horn, they announced the goal, they played the game winning song, they announced the win… Every person that doesn't wait for the stars announcements was out the door before they even announced the goal was under review.

  8. I have been to a LOT of Canes games over the years, and this is in contention for best game I have ever seen in our building. It was wild. Yes, it helps that we won.

  9. Offside call was BS, if you're looking at millimeters on a offsides review for a goal that happened 30 seconds later, you've lost the plot

  10. Bro how were the Sens even in these playoffs? There was nothing but nonstop yapping about "If we just had goaltending we would be a top team" the entire year, they barley squeak into the playoffs and fold even when Ullmark has been their best player.

  11. Ottawa was really outworking the Canes it felt like, but that overturned goal felt like it lit a fire under them to leave no doubt. I could just feel the momentum shifting leading up to Marty's goal, especially with Carrier delivering a massive hit in the corner a little bit before.

  12. I am very curious if there are other camera angles from the save Ulmark made in the 2nd where the puck was behind him, Canes were up 2-0 and not long after Ottawa scored. The one camera angle looked like Ulmark reached into the net with his glove and pulled the puck back, but they never showed any replay of it from camera angles that mattered. Kind of weird they didn’t review it when Ulmarks glove was clearly across the line and looked to be pulling the puck back, when game 1 it took a review to reverse the call on the ice from the Fredzilla save.

  13. The refs did absolutley suck not just cause of their missed calls but they werent saying anything about the review and it wasnt showing up on the jumbotron, i mean the goal was announced and everything…and leanovo absolutely sucks to get out of so if your not staying for three starts youre trying to get to your car as fast as possible, and all the exits say once you leave you cant come back in no matter what. We didnt leave until 11:45pm.

  14. Hard not to cheer for Ottawa, need a strong franchise there. Maybe no true rivalry with toronto or Montreal but they both are better off with a good team there.

  15. In that 2nd overtime, I was sure Sens was going to score against Staal's line, he looked slow in some shifts, and Staal & Martinook had some sloppy passes to each other.
Glad I was proven wrong 😀

  16. As a Sens fan, that was a heartbreaking loss, but those are games we can win and have won, if we win both at home – it’s a best of three.

    We’ll see what happens.

  17. Ullmark is playing out of his mind. Both games could easily have been Canes blowouts if he wasn’t playing like he is. His glove is always in the right place and he’s been attacking shots with his body like a madman with precision. He’s been incredible to watch. Freddie has been solid, but the Canes depth and shot rate has won them games. They are relentless and don’t seem to fade at any point even in the 5th period. Buzzin!

  18. WELCOME TO THE MARTY PARTY BABY 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 most underrated intangibles in the nhl💯💯💯

  19. The review was one of the weirdest situations I have seen, but I think they got it right (which for NHL refs is weird by itself). I don't necessarily agree with the initial call for a penalty shot, but the ref having their arm up does not negate every infraction that follows after that (like the offside leading to a goal). It's just an unusual side effect of the way they don't halt play immediately unless the penalized team touches the puck.

  20. Lots of pucks hitting posts means the goalie is doing a good job taking up space in the net, and the D are doing enough to move sticks for suboptimal shots. It's not always bad luck. Great game, unfortunate that the goal wasn't called back faster and the crowd wasn't informed that the play was under review. Gets real tiring hearing people talk shit about Carolina saying we don't deserve a hockey team when we've sold out the stadium for 159 games straight because of the empty seats in 2OT.

  21. I still don't get the call that led to the penalty shot. If the play was offside, wouldn't that negate the original breakaway?
Had it been a regular 2-minute penalty I'd understand calling that, but this, not so much.
