I'm pretty sure Finland shot a Puck through the net from the outside at a similar angle at a world cup match against Sweden. And it counted, because back then the referees didn't have video reviews. Was only visible on TV.
The funniest part about this to me were all the Avs fans whining about how the refs "stole" a goal from them. Like, hey Moron, how can it be stolen when it NEVER WENT IN! đ

One of the old nets at my rink has the skirt hanging out a couple inches around one post, in play. When I get that net I always remind it that it's there to keep pucks out, not deflect them in. So far we're still friends.
