Great coverage on this interview by Steve and Todd guys and let's hope that this leads to something…. I stated in previous comments in your previous videos on some potential targets to get. But also in reference to your comment and Todd's comment on Lucas Raymond, I totally agree. But also have to state, he's almost like this generation's Pavel Datsyuk. Because he is the exact same way, pass first shoot last but when he shot that puck there is almost no stopping him. A good reference, was that game from years past where we played the predators and he got hit dirty there is no call he got pissed off strip the puck in our end from one of their players, and beat all 5 preds on the ice to score on Renne then skated away straight faces with no emotion lol. I don't mind getting Faulk, but for a 1st rounder, and done at the 11th hour. Psst! Who was extended, Compher, Rasmussen? Who was kept on the roster after it was known they were not better than 6 minutes per game Hamonic, Appleton? Just bruttle the way nothing was done while knowing where Wings were weak and doing nothing but the wringing of hands. Trade for a player who is going to move the needle on this team.

We need better players? Then go get them. If your prospects aren't good enough now, why didn't you package them in a trade before they lost value due to injuries and average to below play at the nhl level? I get Stevie wants to give the prospects a chance to mature, but teams play 19 and 20 year olds regularly nowadays, because the free agent market typically sucks. And with the parity being so high in the nhl team compete level, you're not getting much quality in trades these days. The Bowman method of building a champion does not work in the modern nhl. I hope steve understands that, but his moves seem to fall in line with that old almost dead philosophy. Detroit is not a hockey destination for players due to 10 years of garbage, you're not getting players based on historical significance or reputation these days.
It shows how bad your team is when you are giving up a 1st round pick just to make the playoffs. This is the team Yzerman built, and it's not a good team. Rebuild time, again!

I was shocked that they didn’t even talk about Debrincat’s season, or Moritz’s season. I was glad to hear the questions about Larkin. I have to believe some sort of shake up is coming. You can add to your core via subtracting a piece for a better piece. Nice to hear all options on the table.

The number of times he gestured towards the "good young players" in the system was concerning. We are seven years into this and we've heard about how the cavalry was coming for five. He genuinely might have lost his fastball here.

I wasn't mad about Veleno. I was a little surprised we went out and acquired Mrazek, but Veleno needed to go. Just like now, Rasmussen needs to go, and a few other guys need go follow him out the door. "Fan favorite", "great personality" or not, or whatever, we need guys who can push this team over the edge. Veleno wasn't that, and Ras, Comph, Apples aren't that either. Don't wanna go home? Well, you can't stay here.
Steve Yzerman did say "We need better players" before this press conference, he said it literally at last year's end of season presser and look at our roster this year Appleton, Perron, Ras, Compher, Hamonic… So Yzerman and is entourage might not know what better players are!
This episode makes me realize the sad truth that Brian and Scotty are drinking the Kool aid and spreading it to the fan base… The presser and what Yzerman said are just words that he's preached in years past including the quote you all love so much " we need better players"

Lucas Raymond took a slash to the wrist I believe it took a while for him to get is shot back then a few weeks later he took another/on that wrist after that he wasn't the same the rest of the year.kasper MBN and Mazur. He did mention more in the folds so expect at least three more prospects in the lineup next year
