  1. Not on topic but many were gushing about Soderblom being in the playoffs.
His Pens are down 3-0 and Elmer a healthy scratch tonight pointless in game 1& 2 .

  2. To start off, I'm still in my, "every single one of these guys failed to make the playoffs. They should all be in failing" mindset, so this may be more negative than usual.

Seider: Meeting. He was a Norris caliber defenseman this year, and that was exactly what I expected him to be. This is where the grading criteria comes into play. I have a ridiculously high standard for Mo, so when he plays like one of the best defensemen in the world, he meets my expectations. He was fantastic this year. He's my favorite player on the Wings for a reason. He's incredible, and I think he's only going to get better with age. I don't think he'll get to Lidstrom level, but get a winning team in front of him, and he'd be in the conversation. He's the best Red Wing since Z retired.

Edvinsson: Meeting. Tale of two halves for Mr. Edvinsson. First half of the seasons he was above, flirting with above and beyond. Second half of the season was a little below, but pretty close to what I expected at the start of the season. My expectations will be higher for next season.

Copp: Above. I thought he did better than I expected him to. I thought he'd be 3C, but someone didn't perform as expected. More on that later. He centered our best line to the best of his abilities. He may not have the best abilities, but he did the best with what he had. 😅

Appleton: Failure. Wtf was that? 14 points? And I swear it seemed like 10 of those were in the first month of the season. He went out there and skated. What else did he do? Jersey.

Kasper: Failure. That……. performance, for lack of a better word, blew my mind. After last season, I thought he was going to get between 50-60 points this season. I think he had like what, 19 points? That was concerning. I'm honestly okay with trading him at this point. Not that I'd shop him, but if we could turn him into a Thomas or Robinson, I wouldn't bat an eye at that.

Finnie: Above and Beyond. Going into training camp, we were like, "Who?" 7th round pick 2 years ago. Plays 82. Has 30 points. Plays a lot on the top line. My expectations were nothing, and we got quite a bit from him.

Talbot: Failing, and I'm not sure it was entirely his fault. I thought he'd be a good, reliable backup who typically doesn't let in more than 3 a game. I thought he'd ease the burden on Gibson, so Gibson wouldn't be run into the ground like Talbot was last year. I don't know if it was because of performance, injury, or Todd just wanted to play Gibson, but he didn't provide that relief down the stretch at all like I expected.

  3. So many times, I saw Seider not clearing the front of the net and just using his stick which it didn't work. Seider took a step back from last year. He refuses to use the body nightly, and then he goes in the media and blames the fans for expecting them to take a jump. You guys missed that eval big time. It's not just about hockey sport track.

  4. Copp being above, let alone being considered for above and beyond is nuts. This is the first year in Detroit that he's even come close to earning his contract, and even still fell short. 9 goals is above expectations? He scored 8 goals for the New York Rangers. He played there for 16 games.

His linemates combined for nearly 150 points, and he managed 43…

  5. Rating a choker like Vopp above anything Proves neither of you know 💩
This rating makes Helena St.James look halfway intelligent.

  6. Ok just a content idea since it’s gonna be a long offseason. When you guys grade each player I always try to think of a highlight of each player from the season. Like edvinson was the game against Ottawa where he crushed Brady then got in a fight after. Or his “leg is a hell of a long way from the heart” comment. Just for example.
Just an idea, some players might be harder like I won’t be able to think of anything for some of the jerseys on the team lol

  7. Your colour scheme seems backwards. I don't remember last year's right now but Green should be at the top red at the bottom. It looks wrong

  8. Just started watching Ohio Bocce League a few weeks ago and that is 10 times more entertaining than watching the last 10 seasons of Red Wings Hockey.

  9. I believe Emmitt Finnie ought to be developed into a Center. When Larkin and Copp were down, Finnie was slotted into the 2C position and was ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE during that time. Not only did he produce when he was slotted in there the first time, but when he was slotted in again against Boston, he would have produced if he wasn’t consistently robbed by Swayman. If He can get his finishing much more consistent, he will be a bonafide 2C in the future. If he bulks up in the offseason, he needs to be put in the 2C position much more consistently. Start him out at 3C and work your way up from there.

  10. I love that you guys dissect the performances; regardless of how well or how bad it went. I hope that next season is the year, regardless of what the roster looks like. We all want a winner.

  11. The Norris trophy is like 90% total points and 10% defensive impact. Im not expecting Seider to even be mentioned, even though he deserves it

  12. Jesus Christ, Copp's 43 points are ONE point more than his first season as a Wing. I don't care that it's a career high.

There was no reason to expect any significant offense from Appleton.

  13. Having the HIMS graphic up when you were talking about cotton candy with caffeine killed me, I thought you were really building up the ED med with cotton candy flavor xD
