Canes fan, just here for the tears
The cope in this video is wild lol. “This is just their second playoffs series” ok? Where’s the improvement? Look at Montreal, it’s their second go at it and they have prospects coming. Anaheim has their first crack at it and are competing. Sens have not much coming up and this looks like the most this group will ever get to. Barely squeaking in and first round exits
Also, the Canes are not even playing well, this is embarrassing
Let’s all idolize Canes. That’s what happened here. Patron interaction was limited. Journalists on talking/ finding a story. It’s a hockey journalist sport podcast.
Guys, what do you expect? With a fully healthy lineup it would be a 7 game series. But carting out guys with separated situates, broken arms, and then plugging ahl players on the backend with zero playoff experience you get this.
Alright so who are the Sens going to target in the inevitable Tkachuk trade? Mcdavid? Granlund? Guenther?
Went to the game with my boys tonight… honestly brutal. The Ottawa Senators looked completely out of it from the start. Getting scored on before the first TV timeout set the tone, and it never felt like they played with any urgency after that.
The 5-on-3 for almost a minute and a half was embarrassing, half the time just entering and exiting the zone with nothing to show for it. Even my 8-year-old noticed they barely had any offensive zone time all game.
Fans showed up, the energy was there, but the effort on the ice didn’t match it. That’s the frustrating part.
I couldn't disagree more on the Hall, Sanderson situation. Hall being shorter is irrelevant, cause he didn't leave his feet, in fact, it seems like the cause is hall finishing a check, and sanderson stopping to avoid the contact, and instead bending over slightly at the waste and reaching for the puck, which put his head directly at shoulder height and in the path. If he had not bent like that, it would have been body on body, and it seems like hall is trying to pull back. Even worse though, and maybe green knows something we don't, but he took that hit, and seemed fine. Kepts playing fine. It was that next play and the blocked shot and puck off what looks like the wrist that seems to have hurt him. Like bieksa said, no nhl caliber player is taking themselves out unless they're seriously hurt, and it wasn't the doc or spotter that took him out, it was the block, him saying nope, Im done. Maybe the wrist is fine, he left as a precaution and as he was getting checked out the docs noticed something about where his head was at, but if it wasn't after the hit, and it was him acknowledging he can't play by voluntarily leaving, logic would say it was him realizing his hand was messed up and not him concussed. They probably should have called the 5min, but I don't think anything was wrong with the 2min. At the end of the day the owness is on hall, but physics is a thing, and us watching frame by frame angry doesn't change the fact that hall can't just magically disappear and not hit sands. If there is supplemental discipline, which I doubt there will be cause hall clearly wasn't trying to do that, then as much as it pains me to say because I love the guy, but Matthew then should be fined too. It wasn't even a play anymore, he skated in an opposite direction as the bench, and purposely chicken winged Martinook, intentional, clear as day intentional, almost intent to injur type dirty play. Completely different from the hall hit.
Philly has a bunch of rookies out scoring this team. Tage Thompson had 4 points in his playoffs debut. There is no excuse for the team to be this bad after making it last year.
As sens fans we have no right to make fun of the leafa anymore. This core has looked worse than theirs in the playoffs
We’ve said all season the we need average goaltending. Ullmark has been outstanding and the team decides it’s time to shrivel up and give up. No one looks like they care to win. They’re playing like they’re just happy to make it. Obviously the injuries to the blue line have hurt here at the end of the year but you gotta find to play like they did at the back half of game 2, and play like that for 4 straight games
Last year, the Sens lost to the Leafs because the forward group couldn’t score 3 goals, this year they’re losing because they can’t even score 2. The regression in their attack isn’t just due to their opponent as their strategy is providing them with plenty of opportunities but at some point, the best players need to be the best players.
FWIW the Canes top guys are getting pretty shut down too, but there is no depth support on our side of the fight. Greig is an absolute gamer out there but the Sens look so uncomfortable playing against their own play style—you would expect to see a little more of a chess match given that these two teams understand each other’s systems but there has been no adaptations out of our team. Anderson has looked completely beatable but the Sens are still looking for that pretty pass or the perfect moment. It feels like the Sens are trying too hard to get to their imagined game plan instead of playing the ECF grind-fest thats in front of them.
Crowd was ROCKING last night but how much longer do we have to cheer for the little brother team?
Might as well bring up Yakemchuk and Kaliyev. Need offence. I’d put Halliday in as well. Wild disappearing act for the offence.
Put yakemchuk in. Why not?
Trade Brady is a fair ask. He has been pitiful and only showed up last year when down 3. Same thing so far. He only cares with a USA jersey on. He was bad bad bad. Stu was bad bad bad. Why not burn it down the team is clearly a wild card easy first round out as their ceiling.
They let themselves down for sure .
It’s not the Sens. I think they’re playing as good as they ever have since the rebuild! It’s Carolina. They could win the cup this year.
Guys, they sucked because they were so rushed. They were under so much pressure they rushed so many passes.
Somehow I want to trade brady. He is great, but I do not know if that fit Sens.
