As a native to Western New York, I get the well there not much to do in Buffalo feeling. I also think it's a bit of a cop out. True the Buffalo vibe is not as good as many other cities. As fun as Chippawa is when I was in my 20's, the nightlife is not as good. Buffalo is small city and you do not have the big city never sleeps atmosphere. BUT Buffalo does have all the big city things to do like museums, performing arts, great food, nightlife but its quieter, spread out, and you just have to know where to look. It's just a different vibe.
