Hello, good morning everyone!
For dopey Sweeney Apologists that still think he builds Cup teams
6 straight home playoff losses. 3-11 in their last 14 playoff home playoffs games
9 of 10 years his Bruins have also failed to win more than 1 playoff round
His Bruins teams have more playoff DNQs(2) in 10 years with him GM than 2nd round series wins(1)
Don Sweeney has also made 65 draft picks, over 11 drafts since 2015, Only 4 of those 65 draft picks play for Boston today
38, forward draft picks since 2015 by Don Sweeney, the cry baby & mentally weak Jake Debrusk has been the ONLY Top 6-ish forward ever developed by Don Sweeney
41, 3rd-7th round forward and or defensemen draft picks by Don Sweeney since 2015
Games played leader at forward of those 41 draft picks? 4th line throwaway Jacob Lauko’s 83 games for Boston
Games played leader at defense of the 41 draft picks? 5th round draft pick, Frederic Brunet and his lousy ONE!!! NHL game!!!
So from the 3rd-7th round at forward and defense, across 11 drafts and over a decade since 2015….Don Sweeney has YIELDED NOTHING from those 41 FN draft picks. NOTHING!!!
Don Sweeney inherited Bergeron, Marchand, Chara, Pastrnak, Krejci, Rask Krug Hamilton and Lucic on the FN first day he took the job as GM. He then was allowed to trade Hamilton and Lucic for what turned out to be 3 1sts and 2, 2nd round picks
NO GM IN NNL HISTORy has ever been gifted more on Day One of his job as GM and Don Sweeney’s Bruins WON NOTHING because he failed to add to this team
And dopey Bruins homers who like to claim this season was a “house money” year
Um, in 2024-25 the Boston Bruins, for the first time in Don Sweneey’s tenure as GM became about 90% just his guys. So only players Don Sweeney either drafted, traded for or signed as outside the organization UFAs himself
What happened? Poof…. Straight to the lottery
And for you Don Sweneey Apologists that say the McAvoy and Marchand injuries caused that free fall in 2024-25, both of those injuries happened later in the year and the Bruin 100% decided to shut both down for the year because long before either got hurt the Bruins were already a dumpster fire that wasn’t going to make the playoffs anyway
So why did the Bruins get James Hagans? Don Sweneey sucked at his job in 2024-25
Why did Marchand, Coyle, Carlo and Frederic get traded? Because Don Sweeney spent to the Cap in 2024-25 and built a shit team that was so bad, that ownership told him…. Hold a fire sale or you’re FN fired
So again, Don Sweneey being SHITTY at his job in 2024-25 led to Hagans and those trades, so….
This year Jermey Swayman had a Vezina year, otherwise they miss the playoffs by a country mile
Proof? Boston Bruins 5×5 in 2025-26:
xGA: 29th
XGF%: 27th
xGF: 22nd
Bottom 5: High and Medium Danger Shot and Chance Generation. This means the Bruins were Powerall level lucky in terms of being able to actually finish as a Top 10 5×5 Goals For team
But what happened as they closed out the year and in the playoffs? Their offense predictably regressed to its lower talent level.
In their final 13 games they scored ONE FN goal in 8 of 13. ONE FN GOAL!!!
They lost 5 of their last 7 games and they finished the year losing 9 of their last 13 games
Bottom 5 in High and Medium Danger Shots and Chances Against this year. This means their defense sucked big time.
PK: Flirtered between 24th – 30th all year, finishing 24th
.500 or below all year on the road
All Don Sweeney has ever accomplished as GM is inheriting Bergeron, Marchand, Chara, Rask, Pasta, Krejci, Krug and Hamilton, winning nothing and having the team rot from the inside out every year with him as GM while they continue to be the NHL’s laughing stock anytime they actually fraudulently make the playoffs
GM of the Year forever though
I wouldn’t expected many changes in 2026-27
Why?
13 forwards, 6 d-men and 3, goalies all have NHL contracts for next year so it’s going to be trades or busts to improve in 2026-27
This idiot from Watertown! Maria get lost
They were exposed and showed they are not a playoff team. Beating teams in November or February aren’t worth getting excited about when you’re not truly built for the playoffs and want to win. The home losses were embarrassing. This team is built for January games not playoff games. Buffalo was the better team. Better speed, better transition and better drive for the net. The Bruins and their ‘toughness’ didn’t help much as they never crash the net. Lots of work to do and it will be awhile before this team is as good as Buffalo or Montreal or Colorado or Minnesota
Been a Canadian Bruins fan since 1967. This may piss some fellow Boston Bruin fans off but I got to say this. The Bruins have only about 4-7 Canadian born players in the organization and the rest are either European and or mainly American born players.
Even back n 2010-2011 the last Bruin Stanley Cup against Vancouver the team roster had 14 regular season Canadian players on the roster. Every Bruin Stanley Cup team 1929, 1939, 1941, 1970, 1972 and 2011 were Bruins teams with mostly Canadian hockey players on the team. The Bruins had better and way more competitive franchise team during those decades. Get more Canadian talent on the Bruin roster that's all I got to say.
Buffalo completely outclassed the Bruins. Without Swayman it would've been an easy sweep.
I think bruin fans can blame rayzor for calling Lyon a backup, bc I think that made it to him. Dude finished 4 games with a 1.14 GAA and a .955 SV %. And that was after a really strong regular season. It damn sure made it to every Buffalo station and show.
That arena was like a library last night
Lyon was a phenomenal goalie at Yale in the mid-2010s. He had some classic games against the Jimmy Vesey-led Harvard teams, and I remember an NCAA tourney game against Jack Eichel and BU in which Lyon played great despite losing in OT. I like seeing college players do well in the NHL, regardless of who they play for.
The Bruins only hope to get back to a cup before they will inevitably be forced to trade Pasta and Mac is to figure out how to get a current elite center and dman on this roaster. I don’t see that happening with teams so unwilling to let those guys walk. This retool should have happened in 2023, after Bergeron and Krejci retired. Sweeney made some nice moves during this retool. But he should have been proactive back in ‘23 rather than chase cups with rag tag lineups, watch the team bottom out, and then make his moves. Now you’re hoping that a bunch of 19/20/21 year old kids are gonna help buoy the team whose best players are almost 30? And on a team that props up progress stoppers at every turn because they can’t stand missing the playoffs? It will be a long time before this team sniffs a cup with this approach.
Boston's best two players, are better than Buffalo's counter parts, but that's where it ends. Buffalo's D is one of the best in the league, Dahlin Samuelson and the rest of the D outclass Boston's there is no argument there. The forwards as a group are younger faster and more skilled.
Its not a hockey discussion just a list of sponsors for their channel ….
Sabres fans deserved the win. I hope they win it all
Get Hampus outta here this offseason, pray to your deity of choice Leafs pick falls to 6 and we get a RD like Reid, find some speed or really anything other than bottom 6 checking forwards for double the AAV anybody else would have paid in free agency
Buffalo was just the better team in all aspects of the game. Except the power play. If they had a power play they'd be practically unbeatable.
McAvoy was completely unnoticeable all series- until the slew foot. Where was he? Why so ineffective?
Sabres dominated game one minus be able to break seayman thru 50
All this gutless franchise does is choke on its home ice . They have been doing it for over 50 years
I feel like theres a big hockey trade that could be made between Edmonton and boston. Big risk for both teams but inthink its something both needs need to do to make a shot at the windows they each have
It felt like the majority of the fans in the building were the family members of company execs who were too good to cheer loudly! Wish we would of showed more passion and excitement! Felt like the fans treated the game like a regular season game or even a preseason game! What a shame!!
Thank you “ Joey from the Northtowns” for calling into Buffalo radio and spewing your 1970’s rhetoric… thank you for the bulletin board material… we will see if you have the nuts to call in Monday.
B's must make trades that'll likely be unpopular and unhorse 5+ guys. As a team, they don't skate well, they're slow, and defensively, need to scratch man to man, they cannot keep up with fast teams. Defensively, they're weak, can't move players from their own goal, so they play the stick. H.Lindholm, Lohrei, toooo soft!
the guy on the right said if the bruins won the first two games against buffalo it wouldve been 2-0 boston….interesting take
Bruins just don’t have the talent to compete right now. Every time I see Elias lindholm I ask out loud why did they spend all that money on him?
There's only one Razor…Rob Ray.;D
Completely outmatched against Buffalo Swayman kept them in games . Time to unload some of our players starting with Peeke , Kuraly and maybe Lohrie B’s need speed and size on both sides of the game offence and defence . Hopefully we get Toronto’s pick this year even if the most offensive d-men are gone when Boston picks hopefully 6th l’d take Albert Smits from Latvia 6’3” 200lbs although left shot he was awesome in the world juniors he looked like a man against the juniors . And with their own pick take a decent size centre who can skate fast .
The Bruins had the second best home record in the NHL this season. The issue is they were just totally outplayed by the Sabres home and away. The Bruins were quite lucky to have 2 wins in this series. There is no way they should’ve or could’ve taken the first 2 games of this series. Game 1 was a totally lopsided game in favor of the Sabres. The truth is the Bruins are not that talented and they totally overachieved to make the playoffs. They need to invest in younger and more talented players. Time for a reset.
Doan out-hustling McAvoy and Pasternak for that puck leading to the 3rd goal was the a perfect example of why the Bruins can’t compete with the Sabres. They aren’t talented enough so they need to win the physical battle.
Sometimes you have to give the other team credit. Without Swayman, no way the games are close. He stole two games and kept the B's in the series.
Watching from Toronto and loving it. Go Sabres.
Same old song and dance with the Bruins.
Let’s Go Buffalo!
