    We got Dubas JR and Shanahan 2.0 but without the hardware. This has to end well right? Does the owner of Osmows have a son looking to work in a field he is under qualified for? Might as well go for the trifecta. Also Berube returns with Rielly on PP1 and Domi kills penalties.

    While I’m not excited about this choice I am at the point where I am willing to try anything with this team because staying the course for a decade put us here. Might as well shake it up and see what happens.

    Honestly I’m more upset that Berube still has a job. Hopefully they’re leaving that decision to Chayka and he makes the right call in the coming days/weeks and sends him packing.

    Didn’t Pelly say this was going to be one of the most important decision of his MLSE tenure and hired a firm to find the next “guy” and this process digs up Chayka (Wendy’s boy), a guy that didn’t do much in Arizona (mind you they were a terrible franchise), got suspended for being a snake and has been out of the league for five years.
    I’m welcome to be proven wrong but I feel he’s going to be terrible.
    I’m open to see what Sundin has to offer and read somewhere that Gary Roberts could be involved which I’m down for.

    As someone who is a NY Jets fan (dropped on my head as a child), the Chayka hire reminds me of the Adam Gase hire. I know it’s GM vs coach but still. Hope I’m wrong

    No problem with Mats having a role, but if we’re hiring a Chayka, I’d rather it be Meghan since her math at least maths.

    Look, I love Sundin as a vibes/culture guy but I hate the idea of Sundin leaning on Chayka for modern nhl information. Hope to be proven wrong but I’m definitely glass half empty here.

    I won’t react to this decision.  I’ll have the benefit of hindsight in a decade and react then. 

    I was excited when we hired Babcock and Dubas.  I’m done reacting to anything but actual results.  I wish them luck.
