Chayka and Domi are best buddies so essentially Domi is the de facto president. If anyone has ever heard Domi try to even string together a simple sentence knows there are some very dark days ahead when you’re letting him decide who should manage the team. Domi has always been a corporate kiss ass and has his nose squarely in Pelley’s ass and telling him exactly what he wants to hear. This time next year it’ll be so dysfunctional that Leaf fans will long for the John Ferguson days.
MLSE understand its 5 yrs at the bottom of Eastern Conference until Contract mess Draft capital and prospect pool is put back in good shape. Sundin is taking one for the team to help sell tickets and Jerseys until then. Sundin legacy will be destroyed in the process.

Why is Mats doing it? For a shitload of money. He got paid when players weren’t making that much. He needs to supplement that NHL pension. If it blows up in his face then he just leaves and moves back to Sweden with a few extra million in his pocket. He doesn’t care. It showed when he refused to get traded. It’s nice payday to do minimal work just by whispering a few things in Pelley’s ear once in awhile. Domi got his buddy a nice retirement gift.

I like Futa as a hockey guy with a good heart but I could not stand the thought of Gillis running the Leafs. I don't want the NHL old boys network retreads running the Leafs.

The Leafs need to get back to being the real Maple Leafs, meaning look at the type of players they had when they actually won Stanley🏆Cups… They had true grit warriors Canadian boys for the most part with skill.
Maybe they not all Canadian players but look at that core & depth players the type of players they were & go find that in today's NHL.
How do they do that first things first the Leafs must get out from under these No Trade Clauses someway somehow they have too.
Matthews & Nylander are NOT winners.
Can you build around Knies & Cowen we shall see i would try too trade Nylander & Matthews, Stolarz, Reilly get young assests or young canadian players for these guys who are young & talented.
Be crappy for 2 or 3 years Draft very well in the top 5/10

The rebuild will be forced on them. Leaf fans know this but the short-sighted greed of Rogers Corp is interfering with the correct hockey decision here. They would actually make more money in the long run if they made correct hockey decisions. This shitshow is fundamentally the fault of ownership.
