Mitch Marner sets up the game winner in game 5 game gets a game winner 2 goals 3 points tonight good for him been a Mitch fan being from Toronto and that kid played his butt off and was super under appreciated and probably took more scrutiny than any hockey player in leaf history. A lot of critisizm was just but overall just judging from tonights performance alone it was always a player and organization problem in Toronto. I see a shell of a top goal scorer and a could carless one dimensionsal cherry picker who's days are both numbered while my favorite leaf of this wasted era is already thriving . I cant wait for the sundin Chayka news in a few days. Buckle up leaf land this ride already has a delay. Keep her Going Mitchy .

Marners numbers were down during regular season because he was being used as a center to replace William Karlsson. 2 goals and an assist tonight we VGK fans can’t complain about that. Marner is earning his money in our eyes.

The idea that the numbers back up the idea that Marner couldn't produce in the playoffs is a joke. The Leaf's couldn't do it when it counted. Marner has repeatedly shown he CAN do it when he counts. Overtime goals in the Olympics and Four Nations for Team Canada as well as setting up pivotal goals. The Toronto media and Leafs management let Mitch become the goat and they "changed their DNA" when they let him go. Hey, Leafs, I've been cheering for a Stanley Cup win for you, given that I wasn't even four years old the last time you won. You were getting close. Now you can't even make the playoffs. Marner goes and you're right back to being the Make Me Laughs. Marner had more playoff points per game than anyone else on the team AND he lead you though the regular season even when Matthews wasn't there. Horrible management (1st round pick for Laughton only to get a 3rd round pick one year later, Minten and a 1st round pick for Carlo…. that's two first round picks kids). Go Mitch Go! Toronto treated you poorly. I hope to see you lift the Stanley Cup!!!
Hey Toronto Maple Leafs management. Have you ever heard the John Lennon song Instant Karma? Well as John sang, it's gonna get you. And it did. The only major change (other than Tanev not being there) was Mitch. You went from first in the division to the basement. You disrespected a fine, hard working player that was the core of your team. Enjoy the damp and mouldy smell of your cellar.
