  1. My biggest worry is we don’t have anyone to shadow MacKinnon now. Ek and/or Brodin would do that. As much as I love McCarron, he’s not quick enough to keep up with him, and Hartman is not superb defensively..

It’d be cool for Yurov to just attach himself to MacK all series (like Haula that one series), he has the speed and youth but the faceoffs would worry me.

Also Ek is always injured in the playoffs. It’s annoying

  2. If we can find a way to somehow split on the road, we might be okay with the long break between games.

  3. Definitely suboptimal, though not surprising. Wild are gonna have their hands full up the middle as it is.
Hoping they can squeeze out one in Denver, probably need Wally to goalie the Avs one game to have a chance.

How did he finish game 6? Just doesn’t make sense. I hope they truly believe he could be back by game 3. The Brodin note feels like they are just trying to throw off the avs.

Hope ek isnt in the same boat

We’re always missing one (or two) of our biggest players during the playoffs. I know it’s part of the game and you need to be able to cover it, but it’s frustrating.

  6. Worst part is, didnt he basically fall on his own into the boards?…. self inflicted

  7. Look at this way:

If we lose, well, it’s only because Ekkie and Brods were out.

If we win, well, just give us the cup now and save everyone’s time.

Remember… you do not always need a Center to stop 29.

We will be okay. If we can steal one in Colorado, that is a W. I think we have great momentum going into this game, and I agree that injuries are unfortunately a factor we have to accept in the playoffs. I trust that the team prepared for this

edit: but meanwhile yes I will cry just a little

  13. I think it’s obviously a bummer, but the goal is to earn a split one of these 2 road games.

I think you really focus on trying to take your pound of flesh these two games with heavy forechecks from the bottom 6. The hits will pay dividends later in the series and the bottom 2 pairs are where the Avs can be exploited.

I’m hoping they bring in Hunt as the Avs are faster than Dallas, and honestly think he pairs better on the 2nd pair than 3rd.

I also think there’s a world where Haight makes an impact. He’s fast and skilled and would be amped up to get an opportunity.

Ek and Brodin’s injury frequency and timing has become a real big problem.

  15. My thoughts are that Game 1 is house money. They’re going to go out there and beat the shit out of them, and if they lose, well, oh well. No one expected the Wild to sweep the Avs. They don’t need an injured Ek to lay out and tenderize them.

There being a chance for Brodin to come back is huge. I thought for sure he was done for the year.

Not having Ek for 2 games still sucks though.

i didn’t wake up scared and anxious today so we’re going to be fine. last series when i didn’t wake up scared and anxious the wild won, and on the days where i woke up scared and anxious we lost. also the twins suffered a tragedy today (despite winning) and when that happens, the wild also win. we’re all going to be fine and jeek will be back for game 3. trust the process.
