    What would make this a 5 minute major? I dont think it had a full wind-up like Malkin or McAvoy, but to me there was also 0 intent to play the puck here and not a hockey play.

    Obviously a penalty, but buddy was exaggerating big time. I’ve been slashed before like that and ain’t no need to flop on the ice and look for the ref… yeah it hurts but come on bro.

    IMO a slash to the knee area should be a game misconduct and a 3 game sus no matter if you have a record or not. The Potential to intentionally harm players career is to high to allow this to continue without making it a serious problem for club to deal with. Knee slash needs to be taken way more serious and the punishment needs to be amplified to represent the danger..
