Cosse and Gibby split next year or we flip him for a haul and bank on Trey Augustine?
Let's Go ‼️ LGRW
Cossa will be part of a trade package this summer.
Trade Gibson in a package and take a chance on Postman and Cossa. If one fails, bring in Augustine.
Why would you possibly trade Cossa or Augustine? You have no idea yet whether either of them could be an elite NHL goalie and you sorta need one of those if anyone’s paying attention.
Dan Watson has given both starts to Postava and it’s just hard to know what to make of Cossa. He might just not have it and that makes it harder to trade him for anything of value.
Yet another highly touted prospect risking becoming someone else’s reclamation project feels like it should be cause for a full review of the talent development.
You all do know that Yman drafted Vasil and Vasil split duties for three years before becoming the starter. And keep in mind Hasek was 27 before he started his NHL career (arguably 28 as a starter for Sabers). Simmer down everyone. Go look at Cossa's stats for the last 2 years including playoffs. I have my concerns and I hope Cossa is working with a neuroscientist/sports psychologist. 🤞
I think it's kinda obvious that Cossa will not be apart of the organization. He got lucky to be on a loaded AHL team this year, but his numbers this year are pretty fraudulent. Hopefully a lazy GM jumps at the bait and they can get a semi decent return or package him with something to try and get a legit top 6 forward. Augustine is the future, but Postava will be the perfect backup type with high upside still for the time being.
Jesus this is a hard watch this time. I know things are rough but Cossa not playing in the playoffs isn't because he's some terrible goalie. It's because Postava has been incredible. We snag a guy undrafted, he lets in one goal in his first two playoff games, and it's doomsday. The negativity is unreal.
Did anyone think Cossa was going to be in Detroit next year. He was never given one start in the NHL. Postava no starts in NHL. Augustine no start in NHL. Yzerman is flying blind. Cant wait for Cossa to get away from the stench of Yzerman and the Red Wings.
24yo adult man professional athlete. I don't want to hear development. Go win some hockey games Sebastian.
Imagine what the skaters in the dressing room would think when Gibson gets hurt and they have to try to win games in front of rookie goalies when they are desperately trying to end the playoff drought. It would be demoralizing to not have even one experienced option to turn to. This is where the playoff drought rears its ugly head. If they had snapped this drought this wouldn’t be a problem.
Cossa will be bad here and go full alex lyon
Cossa for McDavid straight up
Cossa to Dallas for Wyatt Johnston… 😂
needs his own personal coach to work on his mental weakness ! dont have to be a hockey coach , could be a shaolin teacher in china this summer . elite size with athleticism that you dont give up on or trade for a weak draft pick . they dont make guys this size with those legs
Let’s just go ahead and say it: Yzerman mucked up at so many levels. And here is a question: why would anyone waste a trade on Cossa if they know he will be on waivers soon.
Package Cossa this summer. Postava to Detroit. Gylander G1 and Augustine G2 in GR next year. Gylander and Postava had better save % than Cossa and lower GAA. Cossa, Buium, 1st round pick, and Rasmussen and Compher for EP40 full 11.6 mil but they have to eat 2 2 year contracts.Throw the money at Tuch. Lucas Raymond gets someone who can pass to him and a big target to pass to.
31 minutes in and this is gold.
Been a member at Costco 20yrs and finally tried the insane value $1.50 🌭+ drink for the first time last month. Very good hotdog especially for the 1990s pricing!😮💨
I'd trade Cossa for EP40 in a heartbeat.
If Hughes resigns in Minnesota, this is another massive f-up by Yzerman trying to extract a promise from him ahead of time. If Hughes is on Detroit, they make the playoffs and are at least competitive in the first round, ie in a similar situation to Minnesota.
McDavid going to Colorado in free agency. He's like, "I'm getting a Cup. Who could stop me, MacKinnon, and Makar?"
Igor Shesterkin was 24 when he made his NHL debut. Acting like Cossa's career is already trending down is crazy to me.
McDavid to the Red Wings for:
– Lucas Raymond
– Simon Edvinsson
– Sebastian Cossa
– 2 to 3 First round Picks
Always drafting the big guy hasn't worked for Yzerman
If Vancouver wanted to continue to commit to a full rebuild you might not get Petterson with reasonable exchange but if they were willing to waive their nmc they have DeBrusk and/or and Boeser on really manageable contracts that could really help the Detroit depth scoring. They wouldn't be helping a Conference or divisional opponent and the Red Wings have more than enough prospects depth for leverage.
It's time to move Cossa. The message from GR is crystal clear, he's not the guy you trust.
The biggest costa mistake was not drafting wallstedt, like everyone knew we should have
The opportunity cost of Cossa right now is that we could have drafted either Jesper Wallstedt or Wyatt Johnston.
Is it the end of the world if a 23 yo goalie spends one more season in the AHL?
A mass hole?
If the wild sign Hughes to a huge extension, how much different is the contract situation from the leafs of the last decade? Those two contracts are gonna take up a minimum of 30 million of cap space.
Can someone find that fight-bong meme they were talking about?
