Also shoutout to Matheson. The guy was SUPERB defensively last game. There was one play with 5 mins left where he carried the puck up through our zone, surrounded by 3 bolts, and still managed to make the first pass out of the zone. He overcomes the pressure every damn time!
Btw we have this guy for 8 years at less than 9m
And he’s only going to get better. He makes a lot of high risk plays and during the regular season he relies on making space for himself which is much harder to do in the playoffs. Once he tunes his game for playoff hockey he’s going to be unstoppable.
He was incredible this series and definitely shifted up a gear, but I still see some unrealized potential.
