If Gabe doesn’t win this by landslide something is seriously wrong
Xarkkal
He should absolutely win. He got understandably snubbed last year since he didn’t play in the regular season.

I really want Gabe to win and I think he deserves it for the battle he fought to come back to competitive hockey, and the impact his return has made on the team. However, Toews also had a great story of returning after a difficult health battle as well, and I wonder if he gets the nod as the captain during a dynasty.

He’s a shoe-in. Or do I mean a skate-in?

All three are super deserving and overcame some really tough stuff. I hope Gabe gets it, but I can’t be mad at any of the three if they were to win.

As a Jets and Avs fan, the night and day difference between Landeskog and Toews is astounding in terms of impact they’ve provided to their team after coming back from a health related issue. I would be quite upset to see Toews take this, because his impact on the Jets, imo, in addition to other issues, set the team back a year compared to Landeskog and the Avs finding success with his return.

What happened to Dahlin that he’s on here?
Kinda feels like he’s being sent out to die, I can’t imagine he’s anything but a very distant 3rd
frostyjack06
Can they split it between Dahlin and Landy? Toews should be a distant 3rd, if only because the dude had a full career before health took him down.

Real difficult task to rank the ‘best’ player tasked with weathering incredible hardship and difficulty emotionally, physically, personally and professionally. Landeskog’s comeback has been absolutely remarkable, but Dahlin’s been *going through it* idk, I wouldn’t want to have to vote on degrees of suffering.

Much as I think Gabe deserves to win this, I suspect he would be the first one in line to award this to Rasmus Dahlin given what he’s gone through this season, and the last one in line to give a shit if he didn’t win it himself.

There’s only right answer and this isn’t even me being biased.

I honestly don’t really like this award because it often devolves into discussions about « who suffered the most » and « my player went through more hardships than your player. » The need to award it to exactly one player every single year is also kind of crazy to me.

It doesn’t get any Sweder than this!
Listen Gabe should win and if he doesn’t I’ll be devastated but if Dahlin wins that’s perfectly fine too.
