he showed terrible judgement and leadership not dealing with an obvious major problem
then he got that A OK from someone who was chosen by a predator because he was easily manipulated and all is forgiven
just like with tillman, edmonton is getting what it deserves, you cant trade morals for cups. tillman traded Ray to his toronto team and bowman will in 3 short years cost edmonton atleast 1 of their stars, maybe all 3
edmonton booting Holland and then replacing him with someone with serious baggage was GENIUS, nobody thought they might have a hard time making good trades??? getting favors???
Bowman has to be fired because he won’t fix the goaltending issue. He obviously recognized the goaltending issue, but his solution was replacing a bad goalie with another bad goalie. The half measures need to stop, he needs to find a way to get rid of Nurse, and then offer the world to a top tier goalie.
If we can't get rid of Nurse, is it possible to send him down to Bakersfield and just get ANYBODY from down there?

Bowman cared nothing about a young man being assaulted by a staff member and so the characterless Oilers hire him the day his suspension was up. Hint, do you think the oilers players have any respect for this waste of skin.

Get rid of all Oilers management and coaching staff, Knoblauch and Bowman should have been fired 5 minutes after this season ended.
Bubbles Bowman blew up right off the bat by not signing Holloway and Broberg in favour of Jeffy Skinner and Aardvark.
Don’t forget Jeff Jackson needs to be gone also because his lack of judgment when most everyone told him definitely not to hire bowman but he defied all advice and hire bowman anyways even being told of all the baggage and problems he had been responsible for in Chicago. They both need to go because of to many bad decisions and seriously when you look at the team today they have seriously regressed a lot because of awful management decisions. . No one In the last two Stanley cup appearances Edmonton would of easily won one of those cups if the team had brought in a no one goalie this is totally on management Bowman and Jackson , all that hard work and all those playoff series and the oilers team come back empty handed and nothing to show for . They were right there Macdavid , Draisaital and the rest of the Oilers team brought them there . , lacking a goalie that could be counted on to make the difference and put the Oilers team over the hump the Oilers team did their job to get oilers to the Stanley cup finals But management failed the team completely. The worked their hearts out to get to the Stanley cup the 2 years . Management letting the team down is an understatement it’s very hard to get to the Stanley cup finals you have to win 4 playoff series against very good teams . What waste of talents and of a great team that could of got a lot better in the Oilers quest for at least one Stanley cup . I personally don’t blame Macdavid for being disheartened with all the efforts that’s been put in with absolutely nothing to show for it 8 years he’s given Edmonton as the best hockey player in the nhl and in the world where the Oilers could of easily won 2 or 3 cups with the talent they had during that eight years stretch . Always the same problem subpar goaltending has always been their downfall. With management knowingly sliding along as I stated before inadequate goaltending thereby sacrificing the team serious chance of winning a Stanley cup because the Oilers team was there management are solely to blame for the Oilers team not having won at least one Stanley cup . What a waste of all that talent and 8 years players efforts . This is sad for everyone one concerned because it did not need to end like this to this point. I am a diehard oiler fan and I feel truly sad that these players and fans paid the price . . The answer is a complete change needs to happen as their is still a lot talent there and an upswing in the Oilers future can had but it’s going to take some serious measures without delay with the right people at the top
Oilers need a elite goalie they have never had an elite goalie under McDavid trade nurse and some singers for elite goalie

Dreger will be on Toronto media next week suggesting the leafs get rid of a Stanley cup winning coach in Berube but suggesting the oil stand pat with Knobs when the likes of Cooper and Cassidy will be available. Can’t trust his words

Successional planning always starts with upper management and Stan Bowman needs to take some ownership for not fulfilling those responsibilities in making sure there are a good blend of young players that has the agility, speed and dedication to work well in the Oilers system. I am still dumb founded when the Oilers did try to secure Broberg and Holloway. Then they let Connor Brown and McLeod go when these guys played their heart out for the Oilers in the playoffs. The replacement players unfortunately did not work out.
