🤭🤭… Everyone is harping that the Canadiens only had 9 shots! Shots on goal is the WORST stat in hockey! In fact, according to the SN commentator, the Canadiens had more "shot attempts" in the first period 18 – 16 over the TBL! The Canadiens were getting their shots away but they were either blocked by TB or they missed the net!
The Canadiens 2nd goal was scored off a missed shot that went wide but Vasilieskiy got a blocker to it and it rebounded to Newhook who put it in! A goal off a "missed shot"!
The Canadiens probably had 35-40 "shot attempts", many of them blocked or missed the net… you don't score on Vasilieskiy by shooting the puck and hitting the Lightning crest on his jersey, you have to shoot for the corners of the net!
What this series came down to was the Canadiens played great game(s) of defensive hockey and Dobes out goaltended Vasilieskiy!🤷♂

Worst lightning team I’ve seen in a while. Point is washed, missing Hedman big time and too many randoms most people have never even heard of until this series. I want the habs to beat the sabres but that d core is horrific defensively. Not a good even strength team at all either.

Habs just took another step towards becoming legit cup contenders for many years to come and did it against a more experienced team, without a second line center.
When they find that second center man for Demidov, they will truly be a problem in the east.

3:05 carrier gets a shot n goal then misses the net on his 2nd attempt shot clock stays at 3. I re watched the entire game (FF) shot count was 14 for the Habs

As an Edmontonian, and die hard Oiler fan, I am looking forward to rooting for this Habs team through the playoffs. Young, fast, full of effort, and just fun to watch. Some of the things the Oil lacked this year.
