No Tippett from the start of the series and losing Cates after game 2 made what was already going to be a really difficult task even harder. Shoutout to the Canes, but definitely excited for this Flyers team and hoping they make some solid upgrades in the offseason.
Canes are going to get at least a week off, especially if Sabres-Canadiens goes 7.

Is this the first year they’ve had a weird staggering of rounds? I don’t remember it being this bad in recent years..
Its a lose-lose for next round because if the canes get upset they will say « we were sitting around too long » and if buff/mtl lose they will say « canes got to rest for a whole week »
Ya, the NHL really screwed up starting this series last Saturday. It was all about ratings, nothing else matters. Now Carolina will get a minimum of a weeks rest.
This series is only 3 days ahead. It’s not that much. A sweep followed by a split of the first two Habs sabres games will stretch this out but by design the gap wasn’t large.
Rest is biggest weapon in the playoffs. Every team that makes it past the first round is good. The loser in the SCF is often the more injured one.
If our top line ever shows up this is a cup winning team, without them I have some fear of Colorado

I’m a Sabres fan and I think we can sweep Montreal but since we are having difficulty with Montreal already I am a bit concerned about us talking on the hurricanes…
As a goalie myself, that fucking sucks. I felt that stick smash off the post in my soul. Those sting the most because they’re almost fully your own fault even though you were in perfect position to make the save. Just not closing the glove fast enough and that hard shot pushes the top of the glove back enough for it to pop out and up like that.

Why does carolina even have a team
Why the hell are you people acting like this is new? One team sweeping while the other only gets 1 day off between rounds has always been a thing. Nobody gave a shit. All of a sudden you’re outraged? The whole incentive to finish high is an easier opponent and the entire incentive to sweep is so you can rest more then you’re next opponent. You’re only outraged because you’ve never seen a double sweep happen or thought about how that would go down. The NHL saw an open timeslot over a weekend which yields the most viewers and had 2 teams who have already advanced so theyre gonna fill that time slow. This isn’t outrageous.
Team venues host other events that have been scheduled long in advance and cant be cancelled. When you have to scheduel around this for 2 teams you’re probably going to find the first available day.

Canes had the easy path. Sens and Flyers. It will be a big wake up call in the next round.
