Trade Igor instead and save a ton of cash. Never understood why they signed him that crazy contract. This organization never NEVER learns.
What exactly does trading Garand get you, if you're Drury? While you might have a chance at an asset, you miss the real chance at resetting the clock. There's never been a better time than moving Igor and maximizing asset management. Next season, Drury or whomever in the front office had zero firsts to use for nothing. Signing a backup goaltender should not come without moving Igor first, naming Garand the starter and setting up a backup to ease him in.
The organization should keep him since he could be a more beneficial piece for a full on rebuild as opposed to this retool. We all know it will most likely be rushed anyway, making the inevitable rebuild process that much longer down the line
