I think you take stenburg. You can find blue liners elsewhere. Sell future draft picks if needed. You have a young core. Use the picks for improving the current roster
What's the probability that we trade down? Say Swap Vancouver for 2nd Pick + 2nd Round Pick for Say 3rd Overall + Zeev Buium. We still get Chase Reid + Another Growing D-Man. Another Idea Swap with Rangers at 5 + Adam Fox we give them Our 2nd Overall and Mukhamadullin 🤷♂️. Then Trade up with oilers 19/20 Pick with Say Bystedt and get Smits around Pick 9? Taking a defensemen at 2 for this draft is dumb, having 4 younglings in our d core for next season is probably worst then klingberg and leddy. Trust in polkamp, LSW, and wang. Our 20th overall pick can be used for best RHD available to add to this future pool of defensemen. Just flex our cap space for 2 UFA defensemen for 2 year contracts, then rotate that cap to dicky and Misa contracts and bring up two of our developed defensemen to replace the UFAs.
Personally, I think we stick with stenburg, focus on an experience D-men in the free agency market. 👍

Bro wants us to believe there is no gap between the top two picks and the rest 😂… then Vancouver would have zero problems with drafting Reid at 3, right? But the issue is that 3-8 everyone has a different order because the talent does drop off. Malhortra likely the 3rd pick for Canucks over Reid. So why would the sharks be stupid enough to pass up on a 1b player for Reid who can go 3rd, 4th, 5th or even 6th. 🤷🏽♂️
I want Reid, trade down if possible.

Pick Chase Reid. If a top defenseman can be traded for later you can always trade Chase Reid in a deal to a team like Vancouver did with Quin Hughes in return for Steve B., If not you keep him and develop him. Sam Dickenson will get better. Poulkamp and Cagnoni are coming. And don't forget that 1st round #20 pick. You will also sign different veteran defensemen this summer. The defense will be better. Other forwards are coming up from the Barracuda too.
