I wish Chief all the best. He just was not the coach.

Never understood why they hired Berube in the first place. His coaching style didn’t seem to be what this team needed.

Who else here is watching this all with their popcorn in hand and a cold beverage and loving the Implosion… im gonna guess 90% of non Toronto NHL fans lol

Problem solved, I’d like to introduce the 26/27 Stanley cup champions!

New GMs always wanna bring in their own guy. Better to do it now than to delay the inevitable. I dunno if I can think of one situation where new GM comes in and they keep the guy.

Didn’t management just go to meet Auston in Arizona? (Can someone confirm) If so, the timing of this says a lot.

I’m sure he’ll be crushed, getting paid for the balance of his contract while sitting on his cottage dock.

Oilers, fire KK and bring in Cassidy before the Leafs pounce

Some offensive-minded players (AM, Knies, McKenna)… Sounds like a great fit for Jacques Martin.

Cant fire players, so only option left is to blame coach for below point per game for highest paid player in the league and multiple years in a row of this after signing big contract.

I’m sure there will be another team in the league that this guy will be a better fit for

The product while he was with the Leafs was unwatchable. Getting out shot every night, deploying Matthews like a defensive center and never playing the kids when the season was lost. I’m sure a better hockey mind could explain why, but watching it just wasn’t entertaining. If you’re going to be bad, at least be watchable lol

Craig Berube never stood a chance. He was doomed from the start. The writing was on the wall when they fired Brad Treliving during the season and brought in a new GM and a senior executive advisor of hockey operations. It was only a matter of time before the announcement was made. On another note Craig has term on his current deal leaving $4.5 million per season for the final two years still on his contract. The Leafs still have to pay him his money regardless of what he does going forward.
