  1. 4 for Eklund & 20 probably requires musty involved.

Not speaking on if it’s too much or not but realistically probably the price.

  2. Aj, just as a counterpoint to your we need D at this pick because it’s the last need mindset.

Look back on any draft, group them into close output groupes.

You’ll realize yes, there’s so many players that surpass their draft expectation. But many do reach the expectation at the top there set with. (Think of 2nd all year stengerg.)

However, upon for deeper look. It’s close to 86% better to take bpa.

As you said, you don’t understand the huge difference between one pick and the ofher of top picks. It’s 53% better chance of a top prospect just for your information,

Stopped sounding like a clown and go with the best player available you idiot.

  3. First I just wanna say I don't hate Reid at 2OA and if Grier believes he is BPA then I will be thrilled to have him. My biggest issue is I do believe Reid is a tier bellow Gavin and Ivar.

For a good stretch these two forwards have been fighting for 1OA status and everyone said that the difference is razor thin between them. People are now saying the difference between Reid and Stenberg are razor thin. I don't see why Stenbergs stock has fallen and I am wondering if there is some downplaying Stenbergs abilities.

I know I am a random no name, but I truly believe Stenberg is the best player in this draft. Just saw that NHLe released info on the propects from this class and they have Stenberg as the best too. Star probability of the top 3 are Stenberg at 96%, Gavin at 89% and Reid at 54%. This to me is a huge difference and makes it harder to justify passing on Ivar.

The other reason I believe Stenberg will be the pick is due to last years draft. We passed on Sam's RHD partner from London to draft Ravensburgen. Even though we have Askarov, he went BPA and took a goalie. Again, if they believe Reid is BPA, I will be thrilled.

Defence absolutely needs to be addressed and trades and FA market might be the best way to do it. Stockpiling BPA assets is still keeping with the process imo. Eventually we will be forced to move the glutonous amount of assets to improve the holes on the roster.

Enjoyed hearing both of your perspectives on this all though and cant wait for the next video 🙂

  4. Always love the podcast and everyone who hosts it! 🙂 And here are my a little of my thoughts on the main topic Reid vs Stenberg and need VS BPA.

First and foremost, the only real opinion that matters is GMMG and his staff's and the only person making the pick is GMMG.

They have collectively the most information (and more IMHO) than any fan, pundit, podcaster or public scout and most likely all of them combined.

As the head of scouting for the Sharks organization (Chris Morehouse) has stated, they watch these prospects years before they enter the draft, tracking them as they develop. All of them? Of course not, but all the top prospects at the very least.

So, when GMMG makes the selection (whomever it is) I will fully support it.

All we are doing is guessing, using what information we can cobble together to select who we think would be best.

As to BPA vs Need. I think GMMG made it perfectly clear over multiple presser he will be picking BPA with his first pick. Not picking by need. the only caveat he gave was if two prospects were close in their evaluation, then he MAY take need over BPA.

He also said he is open to trading the pick. Something he has said for every pick, even the first overall that became Celebrini, but in all honesty, in each case an overpay would have been required for him to consider it.

  5. We can trade to get 1 or 2 top-4 D-men, but not even the Sharks can trade to fill the 3 or 4 D-men we need. The analysts recommending Stenberg admit Reid is not a reach at 2.

At some point, we need to take a swing on premium D, and this is probably our last top-10 pick for a while.

  6. A week and a half ago Sharks fans were praying that Daxon Rudolph would be available at #9. Now everyone is fighting over whether we should take Stenberg or Reid. Whoever the Sharks end up selecting, it’s a win for the future of the team.
