The hire needs to happen, and more positions need filling before we hit the "changes everything" mark.
I agree partially with you, Darius. Teaching a system is not the part that Hartford has been failing due to the coaching in my opinion. The part that’s lacking that hopefully is on the upswing is with developing the young players. I think they can all learn a system that’s used at the NHL level, but they’re not developing and tapping their full potential in Hartford.
A lot of people thought Jay Leach would be a good signing for NYR head coach last year. If it’s true that he could be the coach in Hartford that would set the Rangers up to promote from within once there is a new coaching opening at the NHL level.

Change, on a bad team, is usually good.
Probably a good hire, if it actually occurs. But if Leach is offered an NHL gig he'll be gone in a New York minute. A bigger problem the Rangers need to address is their amateur & pro scouting, the people responsible for selecting the players. A 'breath' of fresh air is desperately needed in these departments.
