  1. I think LA is open ears when it comes to there prospect pool especially since they have too many centers which is a good problem to have cause they can be trade assets to balance their team better all around in areas they need to fill. LA in my opinion will probably shut the door on 2 guys and that is Quinton Byfield & Brandt Clarke. LA has the arguably the next Evgeni Malkin & Kris Letang on there team so I believe if they want a really good player off a trade, it’ll make more sense if they’ll start in the Gabriel Vilardi, Samuel Fagemo & Tobias Bjornfot ballpark. I think LA will be open ears on Turcotte as well but I feel like they’ll try to attempt to trade others first before they get to him cause that’s a guy they’d wanna keep especially knowing they picked him over Seider & Zegras which is PAIN. Lol

  2. Thanks for mentioning my comment, I just wanted to add that there are 4 "prospects" Kings are highly unlikely to move, those would be Byfield, Kaliyev, Clarke and Faber. Someone like Kupari could be made available instead of Vilardi, but Kupari's game fits LA system better, so in my opinion it would be a mistake to trade him. Someone like Jordan Spence or Helge Grans could also very much be available. The Kings have a lot of space for maneuvering and I think they're gonna be one of the most active teams in the offseason. Would also be happy to see them pursue Mason Marchement, 6'4 scoring winger from Florida.

  3. Kaliyev, Villardi and Byfield are at different stages but i think are being groomed as a potential future line.

Kaliyev is ahead of the pack. Byfield is still growing into his body and how to use it at this level. Villardi was a center project but last season (much like Kempe) was being played full time as a winger for the first time.

At the moment i believe the Kings are developing along the line of those 3 reaching max development at the same point for a future 2nd or 3rd franchise line.

Turcotte included in any future trading piece wouldn't surprise me. Villardi, Kaliyev or Byfield would surprise me considering the Kings development investment and intentions but you never know.

There's a lot of offers we the public aren't as privy to.

  4. Durzi had better stats than JC this past season but the reality is Az was a lot worse than LA and OEL wasn’t there so it’s hard on both mgmt to value performance.

I don’t know how you justify durzi ++ for JC. Perhaps the kings get two roster players or one of their top picks as well. And as good as JC is I don’t see LA trading for him. LA holds all the leverage with picks and prospects galore to make such a move. LA could likely get Barzal for the haul you came up with plus maybe one more draft pick (maybe).

  5. There's only 2 defenseman worth trading all those prospects for & they're both on the Sabres… Otherwise, just keep building with what they have & let these youngsters grow, see what they really have before they go all all willy nilly on trades…

  6. If Ollie Matta hangs on at a cap friendly contract him and Durzi & Spence along with Doughty are a good core. I would rather see them get Forsberg from Nashville. Mat Roy also needs stay along with Martin Frk who needs to buy a vowel.

  7. Thanks for the comment shout out @goalinehockey haha, kings will def keep kaliyev, I could see vilardi definitely being moved as well as turcotte, Bjorne or should be moved kings will keep durzi

  8. Crazy that there is a very real chance that out of Vilardi, Turcotte, and Byfield they may not get a single first liner

  9. Vilardi and Turcotte are definitely at different stages in their careers. Counting Turcotte as a bust this early is a bit much but Vilardi on the other hand has been given multiple chances being brought up from the minors to only return back again and again.
The defensemen in question have been steady in their positions with Durzy garnishing the more consistent ice time. Also I think this season Matta has finally started to prove his value on this team.
Byfield being 1st round draft and then right to a starter, most were expecting him to come out like gang busters using that build and soft hands. Now imagine Byfield knowing that was expected of him and right out the gate with an injury like his. I'm sure most returning to the lineup after an injury like that would have hesitancy issues on re-injuring and being a first round draft bust. Expect him to bounce back next season and prove that 1st round value.
Now I expect the Kings to work on the Kempe deal as well as a few other contract(s) before making any deals. And before anything else I would focus on bolstering our specialty teams if we expect to make it past the first round.

  10. Kings aren't moving Byfield who had a great camp & was going to have an xlnt season but bad ankle injury sidelined him & hurt his progress this season. He will make xlnt progress with 15-18 goals & 40-50 points this coming season. Keep Kaliyev. Get Chychurn by trading Iafallo, 2023 2nd round pick, Durzi & Vilardi, for him. Also sign Grundstrom & Lemieux for toughness.

  11. Injuries have stunted the growth of Vilardi(chronic back issues), Kupari (ACL), Turcotte(Concussions/mono), and the broken ankle for Byfield during his last preseason game. Out of all of those players, Byfield is by far the most skilled. He’s a franchise player that will take huge strides this year after a real off season.

  12. Turcotte is a muffin, Vilardi has no wheels, Byfield has awful Hockey IQ. I think maybe Kaliyev will become anything out of our Prospects

  13. LA will not trade a defenseman if that's what they need. But LA is heavy on young forwards. Not sure who, but not Byfield
