1. If they would take a top 10 protected 2023 1st rd I'd say do it. But not for this year's 2nd overall . Throw in johnsonn and or zacha. That should be plenty.

  2. I think landing a player like Johnny Hockey would be another game changing move for NJ much in the same way signing Dougie last year. The downside is he would definitely be the highest paid player on the team. I could see him making $10 million AAV. But his offensive ability is through the charts.

  3. why all the Fiala buzz? We don't need any forwards, just draft Slaf and watch it grow. Go trade for a goalie.

  4. Zacha and Severson? Saying that, I like Severson a lot and hope he is not traded.

  5. As a person who reads all these articles and rumors. It more so sounds like the NHL consensus is not that we so badly want Fiala but more so are a fit in regards to having cap space to fit his next contract and give up some key pieces of assets for him. If I’m gonna be honest, we draft Slaf. And go for a different forward, like is much rather go for Timo Meier before we went for fiala. Or we should go for a guy like Marty Necas on Carolina who has an elite shot and is young and has proved to me a 25+ goal scorer so far. Fitzy said he would trade for guys who can help us now and I don’t think fiala is that piece that puts us over the edge or even closer over the edge. Doesn’t make sense to me.

  6. No thanks to Fiala, would rather just sign a free agent like Forsberg who is a better player then Fiala.. Assuming Tkachuk is not a reality you could then use your trade chips on JT Miller. Adding these 2 guys would expand and make your top 9 bigger. Still need to sure up the defense and goaltending but this could be a playoff team with these additions.

  7. Yeah I'd rather give up more and get Tkachuk, I'd be ok with paying up to an Eichel amount so 2oa (16th), Zacha (Tuch), Smith (Krebs), and then swapping our 2nd with their 3rd next year. I think we might be able to get a deal done for less but this would be good value for both teams.

  8. I don’t get this Fiala obsession . Another small and soft forward . Why do we need him ? To make Nico less home sick ? Give us someone big and nasty !

  9. If Nico didnt play with Jimmy Vesey half they year he would have had an even better year 🤷‍♂️

  10. I'd be more interested in going after Jesper Wallstedt. Call me old school, but I'm apparently the only person who thinks fixing the goalie situation is more important than adding a winger.

  11. I would be okay with moving Foote or stillman as part of main package to get fiala

  12. I heard the islanders are going to bid heavy for Fiala, by all means let them do that.
Keep the pick extend Bratt and get a Goalie.

  13. If 7M a year would get a Fiala deal done the Wild would have made it happen last seen. Russo reported that last offseason Fiala wanted a 8X8= 64M. If any teams want Fiala your giving up your first around pick in this years draft and most lickly more.

  14. As a Wild fan, I don't see them getting the No. 2 pick for Fiala, even if they threw in another prospect or draft pick. I think getting Ottawa's No. 7 is a bit more realistic and Ottawa has been drooling over him all season apparently. But if I was a Devils fan I totally would not want to give away that high of a pick and will be absolutely ASTOUNDED if they do.

  15. Ottawa is going to offer there 7 th pick and a prospect for fiala, so unless straight up for #2 pick for him I don’t think nj is going to go after him

  16. As a Wild season ticket holder, I’m not sure where this goes unless the ante is upped. Maybe the Wild sign Fleury, send Talbot and the rights for Fiala to the Devils for the number 2 and our 23rd pick? We grab another player to make it balance out. Like others, I see Ottawa as the trade partner at 7. I do know Guerin will not be fleeced and has a plan for the the Wild. Our pipeline is loaded and the timing might be to have a core group of players come up as the cap hits fall off, thus a younger cap friendly player / prospect as the final piece. I also feel Fiala will be sent to an eastern conference team only. If jersey were to grab him, he’s a dam good player at 25, and exciting to watch. Do not underestimate his abilities – 85 points is a bundle. Lastly, a good trade helps both teams, you have to give to get and vise versa…

  17. Let's not forget – Alex Holtz is READY. I'm not saying he is ALL we need, but if we're adding him, Slafkovsky, Fiala, and soneone like Mikheyev – big winger who scored 21 goals in only 800 minutes played. Given first line minutes that is a possible 35 goal guy.
