1. For once youtube algorithm brought me to new good channel. Keep it up. I love math breakdowns

  2. I use the help action to boost engagement! Good stuff, earned a subscriber from me.

  3. Very excited to see another channel with this type of content. Keep it up

Side note: Jacob Slavin is an American, so the standard way you’d pronounce his name works

  4. A lot of outsiders fail to see this when they talk about Carolina letting Dougie walk. He wanted a bag more than he wanted a ring. Anyways they just call the team cheap despite being up against the cap, but this move freed up over 3M to improve the roster elsewhere. This is how you win Cups.

  5. Do you even watch hockey or you just a stats bro? Mispronouncing Hakanpaa is one thing, but Jaccob Slavin, come on, man

  6. losing dougie wasn't a massive hole in defense, dougie himself was a massive hole in our defense LOL

  7. Deangelo himself is better than Dougie at regular price but especially at the discount rate …..Bear js an excellent 5,6,7 D

  8. Besides butchering everyone's names, this was pretty neat and I never really paid too much attention to how it all worked out.

  9. DeAngelo was a risk though because he was a cancer teammate, bad for the locker room. Luckily he’s turned his attitude around and is also having a record year.

  10. This was such a good video, and my kind of content. This is the type of stuff I Google
Or ask or say man I should try to make a video like this. Thank you. Subscribed

  11. It's interesting that you use the Money Ball comparison because I often use that film when I make my case that NHL teams have a similar problem in the way they analyze talent. In the film they are shown taking ridiculous things into account, such as what a given player's girlfriend looks like. More practically, MLB teams did discount players who had unorthodox styles, whether it be pitching deliveries or batting stances. In the NHL the problem is slightly different but it is perhaps even more impactful. NHL teams put unfair emphasis/expectations to players drafted in the first round and at the same time, players who are either drafted in the later rounds or undrafted have to preform twice as well in order to get a fair shot at playing in the NHL. I have dozens of examples but Charlie Lindgren is perhaps the best one I can think of at the moment. He is a goalie and he was undrafted. He played parts of 5 seasons in Montreal, on some pretty bad teams and his numbers were pretty good, sometimes outstanding. He ended up signing with St. Louis when his contract was up in Montreal but here again, he was underrated and undervalued. When the Blues had both Binnington and Husso injured, Lindgren was called up. He played 5 games, won them all and his save percentage was .958 and his GAA 1.22. He also set a team record for going undefeated in his first 5 games with the Blues. And yet he was sent down and finished the year in the minors. Now, granted he is 28 years old but can you imagine if he were 21 and was a first round pick??? If a kid like that had been called up and put up those kinds of numbers, they would be in a huge hurry to get him into the lineup! My point is that this guy has proven he can play in this league and in my view, the ONLY reason he has not played full time is because he wasn't drafted.
